Be Careful At The Tpe

Hi bros, the other day I was driving down the TPE and somehow I had this gut feeling not to drive fast that day, and lo and behold I saw a car being booked by TP at the side of the expressway. About 800m down the road, I saw another car being booked by another TP car!!
So be careful man, TPE is definitely a hot spot.

On the 3rd day of getting my license 15 years ago.... I was given a ticket for reckless driving and had only 3 demerit points for the rest of the 362 days

I ACCIDENTALLY cut off an off-duty TP (in plain clothes) while he was enjoying is Sunday morning ride (his own bike). My dad said that the... ahem... Malay TP was probably just jealous that a young kid like me was driving a nice car (my Dad's, not mine). It's not my intention to stir any racial "****" so no flaming please... I think my Dad was just trying to console me and TP of any race might be jealous and pissed off, not just Malay or whatever.

TPE lots of TP. Maybe that is why it is called TPE(Traffic Police Exists).

Saw 3 cars booking ppl(on a single trip at night). One of them looks so much like ordinary car. No obvious decals etc. Moreover, the flashes for the siren is on the speaker board instead of above the car. Can easily miss it.

Yesterday saw another duo of our boys in blue on the pedestrain overhead bridge on TPE towards the airport after the Punggol/Sengkang exit. These pesky speed cameras are everywhere!!

Where were the TP situated? The bridge outside Elias Green Condo or the bridge between Tampines Ave 12 exit and Loyang exit?

Used to work at airport years back and I've seen TP hiding in the shadows below the bridge between Ave12 and Loyang exit but they were there, more to catch lorries speeding.

It would seem times have changed.

They were on the pedestrain overhead bridge just about 300m after the Punggol/Sengkang exit towards the airport. Not so far as Elias Green/Tampines Ave 12 and I don't think there are any pedestrian overhead bridge in that vicinity anyway.

Times have really changed... now they have unmarked cars with video cameras following you to video evidence to put you in court summore, just fantastic!!!

video? if they can tail you and video, that means that they are speeding too. That is dangerous my friends. Counter sue them for endangering other motorists!

If they can refute the claim, then hire a good lawyer to argue that the speed limit is wrongly determined and the road is safe for higher speed and using your judgement on road condition, you travelled faster than what you should as you are busy looking out for motorists instead of glueing your eyes on the speedo

Guan zhi liang ke kou my friend... (authorities got two mouths for our non-chinese friends) Anyway, whether in a patrol car or not, they still have to speed to catch you speeding. Only difference is, now that they video you from unmarked cars, I believe it's more like entrapment! Coz when you see someone chasing you from behind, you may be tempted to increase your speed to keep up with the flow and that's like entrapment to me. Nobody in their right minds will knowingly increase their speed if they see a TP behind them, right? Unless of course if they are fugitives. That's the big difference between being in a patrol car and an unmarked car. Anyway, I think they are not just targeting speeding but also reckless/dangerous/inconsiderate driving, so all those road devils please rein yourself in.

Honestly guys, these are universal issues, not just unique to Sing. For example, certain provinces in Canada have laws exactly as they are now locally in terms of overhead radar/laser speed traps, "video" cars, etc. Only difference is that there's an extra buffer of speed allowed in Can, like 20 kph higher vs. here. Yet, you adapt to that, and just drive 20 kph more under the same circumstances. I recall driving along a highway in Canada and went speeding at 150 kph under an overpass....a cop was standing on the side of the road a and flagged me over by waying his arms, just like docking a plane (hehe, sqflyer, Manwe). He got the signal to pull me over from the radar trap on the overpass. Only difference is that here they send you a ticket in the mail...but I understand that's the same in Can now too.

Driving fast is okay(I tend hit illegal speed a lot) but road racing is a different issue. All the ego and adrenaline is going to make you more reckless. That is how some accidents happen. Wanna race, go track.

Wtg woot...you did us proud. If all the 8 owners behave like those bengs, then we become very no class. Maybe issurance might go up too....
