PS: how come PI/MM are collecting so much for a booking fee? some $12k for PI and $10.5k for MM. Anyone can advice me on this?
i believe it's about level of trust and risk involved, both ways. risk to PI would be low if he had collected 12K from you. at your end, would you trust 12K with a PI? i wouldnt generally. I may consider if it is reputable and has been around for a while. but be mindful htat there is always this risk of the PI going bust (whether it is big or small firm).

btw, if i recall correctly, i only made booking fee of 6k to MM, and only made the rest of deposit later when the car was due to be registered.

I bought from LECO Motors. Down only 10% ie 9.4k. Service Quite prompt and good. At first down 5k but they say the bank can only loan up to 90% for performance cars thats why top up another 5k.

As long got black and white (receipt), shouldnt be a problem. Theres always CASE to back us consumers.

Another point to note.. dont buy from problematic PIs, dont want to name them, can chk it out from the Toyota Wish forum, over promise, under deliver..

Y dont u bargain a little and downpay an amount u are more comfortable with.

hi miki and all the bro here,I understand your concern of placing high deposit but just to clear all your doubt. The reason why the deposit is high cause it base on indent basis, once you place the order will book from japan. During the process we will bid the coe on the actual category and thus we have to pay 10k deposit to lta...we have cases like the customer pay 3k and after that they cancel the order, he say that he can't afford the balance payment...So in this scenario, how?we have already pay the 10k. Simply indent car are not cars that could be sold every day or once a month, you got to wait for buyers and what happen if we bring in and have to sit in my showroom for 6 months... as a buyer would u still be interested in buying the car?Anyway if u happen to know most of the continental car have very high deposit too say about 15k above or so despite what ever amount you loan...I was once a consumer before i am in car trade and that why i can understand how you guys feel...Afterall if you wan to know how reliable our company can check with our customer in this forum.

like i mentioned, it's the trust issue. broadly, we wouldnt know reliability of companies, neither are they regulated nor we get to see your cash flow and liabilities. in my view, the best way is to have a trusted intermediary, like a bank to handle the booking fee, deposit, etc. understand that there could be costs involved, but for the ease of mind, why not? costs can be shared by both the customer and dealer.
