ECU lock on Japan spec 8's?
Hey all,
Car still pretty new so not much chance to really push it, but I have a question, is the ECU locked in regards to maximum speed, i.e. 180kmh as most japanese cars?
If so, what's the best way to go round that? hack the ECU or put in a new one (and hopefully get a little more performance out of it too)?

yes, speed is electronically limited to 187km/h.
u can install SLDs(speed limit defencer) to remove it or u can change a new ECU to do that and at the same time gain abt 10-20(max) hp.
Well i know of HKS ones but not sure about Motec, microtec, e-manage and some others that u can read abt in the forums....

er, i meant aftermarket ECUs that take over full control of fuel, ignition timings, bla bla bla...
A full replacement on engine management but still rides on stock ECU for domestic controls like windows, aircon bla bla bla...
