Engine Cooling fan remains on

Engine Cooling fan remains on
Hi all,
sorry, am noob to the rx8. Got my 2007 6AT not too long ago. Just have this weird thing I wanna check out with the gurus here...
My engine's cooling fan occassionally doesn't shut off even after I turn the engine off and the key's out of the ignition. It remains on for like 5 to 10min and I'm not sure if it auto cuts off because by then I would put the key in, switch it on then off it again, after which the fan shuts off normally. Happens once ~15 to 20 times I turn off the engine.
Did a rough search and some people said it's normal enough, esp after u've driven the car hard (which I don't really....redline once every 2 days that's it)... just that i came across a couple of articles that mentioned that they had this problem before their engine died on them... so am a little worried.
Thanks again!

Thanks!!
Was just a little worried.
As a side point, if this occurs more frequently, would it be an indication of poor cooling? Cos I have only 1 oil filter in. Am considering installing an ATF cooler and CAI + Ram Air induction.

the fans run do to engine temps (radiator) not the oil, but if the fans are running then the oil is mostly just as hot. I second oil cooler is always a good idea.
But remember this will happen on hot day, just because it happens more doesn't exactly mean you have poor cooling units, but i would upgrade to a second oil

Yeah, my apologies. I'm talking abt engine oil cooler. PI 6AT only 1 right? I'm thinking of putting one more in with an ATF cooler as well. Do you mind PM-ing me what would the approximate charges be like plus labour at MG? SO I can budget when I can do it.

Wei wei wei.. stop hijacking other people's thread lah...
The Racing Beat with Ram Air Duct is one of the best intake mods available for our 8s. I've personally reviewed it a long time ago and almost every 8 worth it's salt is running around with one, other than those FI'ed 8s that has their specific intakes.

It's ok...no prob! everyone can +1 post here...
Am quite keen on the RB mod. Will search for your review then. Hmm... guess I shouldn't ask for the approx price here right? heh
Think maybe mid to end july, drive down to MG to get it done since I clearing leave. If I wan to get it done plus install ATF cooler plus change ATF fluid, abt how long I gotta leave my car there? And must call them beforehand to indent or they usually carry ready stock? (sorry, maybe should ask Coupe07)
thanks!

I bought my RB Intake and Ram Air Duct direct from stateside for about S$1.2K. I'm sure coupe07 will be able to give you a better idea the lead time to order the parts, time required for installation and price. PM him if he doesn't post here.
