Everybody's free (to drive rotary)
Hi guys!
Just bought myself a pre-owned RX-8.. really excited about driving a rotary engine car, so I composed a song by changing the lyrics of the popular Sunscreen song... hope you guys will enjoy it...
Everyone is free (to drive rotary)
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, rotary would be it.
The long term benefits of rotary engines have been proved by engineers whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own driving experience…
I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your RX-8;
oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your RX-8 until you sold it
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of your RX-8 and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous the Renesis really looked….
You could be faster than you imagined.
Don’t worry about fuel consumption; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an combustion equation by drinking engine oil.
The real accidents to your car are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind;
Perhaps another car in your blindspot at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares the traffic police
Drive
Don’t be reckless with other people’s lives, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Polish
Don’t waste your time on traffic sprints; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the Renesis is great, but in the end, it’s all about torque.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old warranty cards, throw away your speeding tickets.
Upgrade
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your car…
the most interesting people I know didn’t know after a year what mods they
wanted to do with their car, some of the most interesting 3 year old cars owners still don’t.
Get plenty of V-Power.
Be kind to your coilovers, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll get anti-roll bars, maybe you won’t,
Maybe you’ll install strut bars,maybe you won’t,
Maybe you’ll into an accident, maybe you’ll achieve 50 percent no-claim bonuses
Whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either
– your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your RX-8, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest car you’ll ever own..
Drive…even if you have nowhere to go but to the supermarket.
Read the street directory, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read car magazines, they will only make other cars look ugly.
Get to know your car dealer, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your mechanics; they are the best link to your Renesis and the
people most likely you will need in the future.
Understand that cars come and go, but for your precious RX-8 you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in engineering and motoring because the older your car get,
the more you need the mechanics you knew when you were young.
Drive in the Nurburgring once, but leave before it makes you hard;
Drive along Great Ocean Road once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, petrol prices will rise, used car salesmen will philander,
The car too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young petrol prices were reasonable, used car salesmen were
noble and drivers respected other roadusers.
Respect other roadusers.
Don’t expect anyone else to give way to you. Maybe you have an insurance scheme,
maybe you have a big bonuses; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your speedometer, or by the time you hit 100, it will look 180.
Be careful which body kit you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Body kit is a form of decoration, making it is a matter of fabricating fiber from glass, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and selling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the rotary…
