Evo 9 show in SG
I thought it was a bloody good show.
There were lots of cool mitsubishi cars on display, mitsubishi cars racing and more race queens. Xbox was there with their Forza car and there was even a xbox race rally ($1000 bucks first place).
I saw many ICEd up mitsubishi cars and those look pretty cool.
But the thing that really pleased me, was the venue.
Located next to the canoing area in Kallang Basin, the old warehouses where the old used cars lots used to be was turned into cool Mitusbishi show ground. It had a race track that took racers from a sheltered holding area in one end and had them racing into a warehouse, where there was a grandstand, and then out of the wearhouse on the other end to do more course negotiation.
Drifts, doughnuts, chicanes, straights, outdoors, indoors... it was all very fast paced, contestants didn't need to wait too long before their turn came up.
They had a section for dressup cars, ICE cars and Sponsors. If only there was a drink store, they would have scored 10 / 10 for this event.
If there were some cafes and eateries here, I think this could replace Kallang Macs as the next venue for car meet ups. At night, this place could look like something out of Fast and furious or need for speed underground.
The Dressup part of the show was better organised where the judges and the public could vote for their favourite cars. Different catogories for SUVs, performance cars and so on..
DJs from class 95 (who were obsessed with women's skirts flying and made sure everybody knew about it) were there on hand to add humour to the show.
And of course our local race queens. :-) Need I say more.
Unfortunately I had to leave early so I didn;t get to see Jackie Chan.
Overall... a very successful event.

wonder how much an autograph of Jacky Chan is worth? the first 5 evo IX owners can sell his autograph on eBay and recoup some cost from their car.. :D
Anyway, love the rear valence of the IX- but hate those 2 'nostrils' in the front. what's up with that ?

There was a drink stall there in side on the left near the hanger...but at 1.50 for bottled water and 2 bucks for a canned drink ... i think they can go ****'emselves ...
The event was ok . Could have used more fans in the covered area and hanger...Brian's Evo5 RS was the fastest i saw doing the SMSA circuit there.
The race queens were ..mm...well ugly . 2 out of the 4 were actually pretty . Pretty wasted day if you ask me ...

Well I definitely missed the drink stall... I guess at those prices not many bought. :D
I counted more than 4 race queens. And I think know which 2 you are talking about but like I said "local race queens".. need I say more. Never said anything about them being so solid.
Did you go to the Dream car event the week before at Kallang ?? If you did, you would have found this event much better organised considering it was suppose to be product launch. I guess I was more excited with the potential of the venue as an alternative meet up location.
I didn't get to see any rx8 there... where did you park ?

i took a bus man ... ain't got a car ....yet . Working on it
The place would be good as a part go-kart/SMSA course, with a little doing up of course.
You are wrong about the drink stall . Many people had to buy cause it was the closest stall there . Plus it was so damn hot inside .
Did go to the dream car event, i was in time to see the poor DC5 take a big chunk of the curb off the car park ...haha... saw a few nice cars there ... Too many damn STIs there ..haha..

Did you guys manage to catch the Jap WRC driver going round the circuit in the evo9? His drifts are really something! Smooth as butter. Exactly like how they do it on WRC on AXN! Its really an experience to see it Live. None of the local evo drivers that day are anywhere near that guy.
Bro lohsk. I agree with you. Great show =)
BTW, where did you park? I parked in the back of PA. Saw a red 8 parked there and another blue 8 (female driver) when I was leaving.
The blue 8 has 4 Air Outlet Garnishes (those decorative metal streaks at the front sides) instead of the usual 2 and triple tail pipes like the white 8 featured in our forum earlier. Any bros know that blue 8?

One-sign up for autotest and train from there and go up to the full kallang CarPark Rally. With added time up in malaysia's tracks to increase your skill level .
Two- Go to aboard to advance driving schools and race car driving school to learn . that would take a year or two.
