Max Mosley has added another voice of power to Singapore's apparent bid for a Formula One race.
With F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone already admitting the possibility, the sport's governing body President - Mosley - says the Asian country would be a 'welcome addition' to the calendar.
The FIA chief told newspaper Today: ''Singapore is a vibrant business region with a huge motorsport fan base.
''If the infrastructure and financial commitment is in place, then it is always possible that Singapore could host a Grand Prix.
A Monaco-like street circuit would be the most likely venue.
GMM / CAPSIS International
Above is another saga of F1 in Singapore, it came after the race in Melbourne !!!
Its going to be street race style ! Wonder how the route would be !!! Marina bay start seems a good choice as it will ply rite into IRC !
My guess tat the 1st race will be sometime in 2009 coincide with IRC opening and pubicity would be world wide big time !!!! lets keep our fingers crossed !

his email to me (forwarded by the company involved with F1 publicity).
Again working on your behalf, using my connections please inform whomever it is in Singapore that you are working with:
I have received an email from the lead attorney for FOM that the article is indeed NOT authentic.
She reviewed the article and knew absolutely nothing about it and Mr. E was not interviewed regarding this topic or by that writer. Please pass on this information with the strictest confidentiality. You are authorized to forward this email as an authentic reference as well.
I am willing to guide you on the process to acquire a F1 venue, however due to the enormity of that project I/we would need to ensure that you have the connections secured and representation with the Singapore government FIRST as this process will be a multi-million dollar campaign and is equivalent to winning an Olympic bid. There is always an opportunity for the right venue to be considered but it comes at a very high cost and calculated campaign effort carefully orchestrated & executed.
-------
it seems like the writer who wrote the article DID NOT even speak to Mr B.E himself and this whole F1 in Singapore is taken out of context.
And also...the next planned destination are Moscow and Korea. Singapore is not in the list at all.
He also said the only chance for F1 to materialise in Singapore would be a featured event (Not racing) where the F1 cars will run round Shenton way to the Marina South.
Well....let's hope that there is a remote chance of it happening though..cos i also like F1.

I too wish F1 will come to S'pore, but out FxxK Up Govt not willing to fork out the $$$ for it unfortunately.
Always expecting the corporates to either sponsor or come out with the required funds or investment. Lee Senior MM ( My Monarchy) and his leckies never believed in motorsport or gambling unfortunately.
Those new integrated resorts aka casinos, is a sign of desperation for the govt and country knowing that S'pore is nothing more than a shell for overseas investors and just a stopover for tourist en route to other parts of Asia now.
Not too sure you guys ever remembered, but LKY ever mentioned publicly, "Over my dead body if S'pore ever allows casino on the island", thats why they are now called "Integrated Resorts" what a wanka he is....
Well, lets pray and wish that 1% of hope that F1 will arrive on our shores

I don't think the Lee family is one that is all too keen on motor vehicles that will be used other than for transport. White Y front underpants sort of people. Hot blooded passion or fun is not a phrase that is associated with that family.

The article in the Today paper (11 Apr) was a combination of news on the F1 and the IR. The way I read it, the "4 bidders" mentioned are those for the IR... not the F1. I think this news website got it wrong, but I'm not complaining. If it makes headlines that F1 is coming to Singapore, I'm all for it.
