Fab 8 you're in the paper?
There's an article in the ST paper today about Jap's car giving the Euro's car a run for their money.
But alot of emphasis were given to the RX-8, mentioned about GarageR, the first black 8 that's gonna be on the road. It got to be you right, Fab8?
Anyway congrats on your new black beauty, Enjoy the first and only 8 on the road of Singapore tonite.

Congrates..!! Fab8
The moment that all of us have been waiting for. I'm looking forward to get my 8 on Friday.
BTW, how was the workmanship on your Glass change? I understand that the side glasses are not very good quality..
Cheers

Thanks all for the well wishes. Got back not too long ago and am still smiling. Took the car and drove for over 50km on highways etc...:D Fantastic feeling! I think I was smiling the whole way!
Unfortunately the car is somewhat dirty already as it was drizzling No time to wash yet as gotta do some work later
Anyhow, will wash and wax the 8 this Saturday and post pics!
2F2F, my glass change is fine all round - they used the original glass for both sides and the rear windscreen.

Hi Fab8,
Congrats on your new ride. How's the pick up on the 8? Is it sluggish? Understand that you need to rev at least 2500 to 3000rpm to prevent the engine from stalling in between gear change for rotary engine.
I'm currently driving a 3 series and still enjoying it. The 8 will be a new addition.

The acceleration is not sluggish at all! I was very pleased with it as the revs hit 3000 rpm very very rapidly. After 3000 rpm, on slightly more than half throttle, you can feel the surge in power. :D
Also, no stalling at all if revs fall below 2500 rpm, so not to worry. In fact, I babied it initially and changed at about 2000 rpm, the car had no problems with that.

Is your original glasses clear (from Mazda Japan/USA?) or the dark tinted (originally came with the car) which you put it back after the inspection passed.

Did you check the laser edge print on the bottom of the glass? Does it show the same words/print as your front passenger glass?
Cheers

Bro,
Collected mine on Friday...my Silver Bullet. Sorry, Iwas unable to make it for Sat, the ceremony finished pretty late.
I've been smiling since collected my 8.....a choice that I've never been so happy with all my ex-owned cars. If only the Rim & Spoiler are also here......hmmm.
Still trying to abide the rules to break in at 5km. A real pain...
Cheers

Breaking in is a pain! I've only done about 250km since collection on Wednesday and I've washed the 8 4 times already! :D
