i wldnt spend 1k on an intake. ANd if i really were to do dat, i wldnt even consider HKS. Would rather take RE amemiya intake or autoexe intake. At least i noe they are well suited for the rotary since they are the gurus......

Ur another amp can well be hidden under the front passenger seat since u dun wan the run the cables to the rear. My 2 amps are bolted on to the rear of my rear passenger seats. dunno y ur audio advised u against fixing it at the rear.... many 8s have been fixed up with amps at the rear and sound has been good or rather so far so good. Me have blasted my system at kallang before to test whther the sound will break or not, tink some guys heard mine before. sound is ok, altho my setup is not top of the world. Juz good enuf quality for everyday listening :o

did u use an oil adapter to install ur oil temp? if u got the adapter, might as well get the oil pressure as well, since it is also using the same adapter. dun waste the adapter, fully utilise it!! :D

TEIN has always been the most value for money coilover for all cars. Coupled it with the EDFC, this setup is good enuf for everyday driving with some hard cornerings here n there. although not top range, again, value for money is the word. Stock suspension is still ok for daily use, but if u are into hard driving always, then change them. Since ur suspensions are rather new, y not wear them out first before changing?

the oil adapter is a metal adapter..... let me show u a pic in the nxt post for better understanding. Standby.

What sold me on the Mazdaspeed Front Strut Bar was the master cylinder brace. It virtually eliminates firewall flex under hard braking conditions. It also looks alot nicer than the stock black iron bar.

I think it is not a carbon fiber tube but an aluminum tube wrapped in carbon fiber (It's a looks thing)

Siesta, juz curious what made you decide on the Carbing set? And how much did it cost you? Can you feel the effect of the brake stopper is normal everyday driving if you don't have to brake hard?

Why I changed my front bar? Vanity

Why I chose Carbing? Comes with a brake stopper + fits my budget + looks good(the welding especially) :D

I think the brake stopper serves more to hold the cylinder in place especially during hard braking as it flexes alot. Ask a friend to compress your brakes and take a look yourself. I take it as a cheap solution to fitting on a mastervac brace since I dont drive hard most of the time. Also justifies changing my bar.

Everyday driving....dont really feel the effect.

lastly the damage...$380

The Cusco front strut bar for the RX-8 is basically the same thing with a brake stopper. Looks different but serves the same function and less than 2/3 the cost of Carbing. In fact, for the price of the Carbing, you could have bought the Mastervac Brace and just pay a small fee for installation.

SQflyer: I think what i meant to say was the addition of a mastervac brace and strut bar would have been too pricey for me

The carbing strut was recommended by naughty boy and neon earlier in this thread which prompted my decision. Didnt know there was a cusco going for that price otherwise I would have taken a look. Care to share where you can get it from?

Bombshell: Got it from Limtan motor in Sin ming. I think GarageR also have stocks.

Actually, I don't see why you would need to change your strut bar if you got the mastervac brace. A strut bar is a strut bar. Unless you want to get a 4-point strut "bar" (more like brace already), the original factory strut bar does as good a job as any other. For $380, I would rather get the mastervac brace and just keep the original strut bar. The Cusco strut bar with brake stopper is widely available. Mcwell sells it for a very decent price. I've not seen the Carbing before, but I think it's essentially the same thing. Maybe it looks nicer but it's heck of a lot pricier.

yah bro siesta, i actually agree with sq on this.if u have the mastervac, the original strut can stay there. end of the day, 2 point strut bar is still a 2 point strut bar.

the mastervac uses the direct car body to reinforce the whole brake pump stability, while the brake stopper uses the strut bar to push against the fire wall.

anyway since u have gotten the carbing strut, dun regret and enjoy ur new toy. There shld be more to come!!! :p :p

we've seen the carbing strut during my first sun meet with the rest and personally, yes, it is a hell of alot nicer! yes, vanity always has a price to pay, tat's why we bought our 8.

Coupe: saw your thread. The mastervac brace would definitely be better reinforcement and yes a strut is a strut. Still...Just feel good looking at the Carbing when I pop my bonnet. :p

WOW...didnt know still got to give commision after being poisoned.

Anyways that said, it's good to know there's a place like this to get info about the 8. I'm pretty clueless .Thanks for all the info and poison arrows.
