Fujisubo Cat back exhaust

Hi y'all,

today, so happen I was around ST power.

So when in to kay poh on the Fujitsubo exhaust for the 8.

Good news is they should be getting their LTA approval by THESE 2 DAYS.

Not so good news is it's not going to come cheap, S$1700.00.

So I was wondering if anyone wants to organise a group buy?
Especially with bonus round the corner, can consider lah.

If I am not mistaken, this should be the first LTA approved
aftermarket exhaust for the 8.

The other interesting point is the new Mazdaspeed catback exhaust
with dual muffler box is only going for US$550.00 w/o shipping.
veri tempting huh?

I was at AutoBac Osaka and found out the price of the Fujisubo is only S$1100.

Tem900 told me that Yap Brothers can import and sell at that price too.

So no need to consider a group buy at ST. cos how much can they reduce from S$1700??

even worse, it weighs the same as OE with very little power gain, basically you are just paying $$$$ to have a louder sound

3.1Hp for $1700! But whats interesting is the gain in 2.9 Nm lower down from 5700 to 5390 (From figures, i think this has more lower end torque but the top end will still be close to stock)

Imo i will only pay around half the price for it tops.

do TAKE NOTE that this exhaust will have no gains on the 4AT and the 5MT.... only the 6MT will have the benefits.....

The only thing the 4AT n the 5MT will get is the sound. Psychological horsepower....

The other cheaper options is to manually "operate" or cut open the muffler box and remove all the plates within.

Its much much cheaper only $250..

I think the $250 job has the same effect as the Fujisubo $1000++ muffler box.

cos from the looks of the design and lay out within the $250 muffler box is the same as the Fujisubo one.
All using the straight though design. nothing factistic or special about the $1000 muffler box.
(unless its a dual muffler box than maybe its different)

anyway from the specs of the Fujisubo exhaust it only gives a few HP increase only. Therefore it also proves that the most air resistance is at the CAT. so changing to just the Fujisubo alone will not add much advantages.

Maybe changing both the CAT and Muffler at the same time will give a bigger HP increase.

Anyway I did the $250 modifications , did not find too much of a diff.

Muffler box sound abit louder and nicer. apart from that can't feel any real or large HP increase.

a change into an aftermarket muffler only will give a 3-5hp gain, regardless of whichever fantastic brand or design.... nothing more.

the original muffler box cannot be having the same performance as the fujitsubo one..... the pipe diameter oredi different... i'm sure the muffler box is different too.

morgan bro,

then u operate for us and charge us 1/2 price lah.
wah $125 instead of $1700, guarantee long queue all the way to junction 8. kekeke

but anyway those going for aftermarket exhaust are going for sound and look,
i think not so much pf hp gain lah.

peter

I do not have the equipement and time to "operate" the muffler box.

Man Exhaust did it for me.

If u want the looks. that means u only ask for a much much bigger tail pipe right?

In that case u can be it weld on for around S$300-400 in Spore or Spend lesser like me, go to JB as it cost only RM300-400 (less than half price)

If u do the muffler box "operation" and tail pipe , it will cost u the most around RM800-900 only. better than spending S$1700 for a new exhaust.

My 2 cents is that for our ride to cross over to do something like this is far too dangerous.
True that it may be half the price but you're also running double the risk if not even more. IMO

Our car are much cheaper compared to those BMW 7 Series and Mecedes 3 Series.
Are u afriad of Robbers or thiefs?

I think the robbers are more interested in a Car that has a better market value which they can get rid off with in hours.
Theres not much Rx8 in Malaysia so our cars are very easily detected if it on the road.

And Dont worry, the place I go to is quite safe and I'm a regular there.
I did all exhaust modifications on my 3 cars there. and also my car servicing and parts change next door.

I even leave my car outside the shop while I do my shopping are Holiday Plaze.
They are very trust worthy..

Are theives in Malaysia really that scary to you??? As long as you park your car at places where are secured and alarm well fit, i dont think that will be problem..

Well for alarms.... it seems to be tough to have it installed in our car cause of conflicts with the electronics and for places that are secured.... maybe i have yet to venture further. IMHO.

Let me introduce u a Steering wheel lock and alarm I bought in Taiwan for S$350

It has
1) vibrations sensor : it will detect and sound the alarm when it detects any movements on the front wheel.

2) Pressure Differences Sensor: It will sound the alarm when u open the car door or even the boot.

3) Remote Alarm : when the Steering Wheel Lock alarm sounds, it will activated a pager size alarm (with in 1 km range) telling u that some thing has happen to your car.

Best off all this is make from the top number 1 lock makers in Taipei.
(Theres a video show at Autobac showing how this lock is much more superior than any other locks. they saw, hammer, lock pick , burn it and etc)

Best of all its u only need to buy one and can switch it around if u are driving a different car everyday.
