Funny thing that happened today

Juz collected my 8 today...must say it was totally wat i expected n probably
more...it turns well, accelerate eagarly n the sound of the rotory is simply mind
blowing...in short, the car juz rocks...

Funny thing happen to me today though, i was sending my girlfriend home at ard 4am, saw this wrx on the road...
he was abt to go straight when i was gonna
turn right at the junction...he turn right all the way from the extreme left lane juz to accelerate past me to allow me
to listen to his boxer engine n his blow off
valve...b4 he make an illegal u-turn n head back his own way...

hmm...now,someone tell me...wat the hell is wrong wif all the wrx driver in spore?!?

Rei,

Not All, just one.... Do you think he was making his turbo grunt to flaunt his ride? I doubt it. Most probably, he wants to impress the one beside you.

Btw, I have a Black WRX...

Nothing wrong with most WRX drivers, except a few miniority. These pple are jealous of the fact that your car's ability to turn heads, he is trying to show off in an attempt to boost his ego with speed and his loud tail-pipe.

The RX8 is a female magnet more than the WRX by many many leaps.
The WRX STI (blue with lots of stickers) @ my client's company used to be the talk and envy of many until my plain little blue RX8 comes in. Thats what my customers told me.

maybe you were accelerating too eagerly in front of him in the previous junction or you pushed him unknowingly?

or maybe he really had turn right all the way from the extreme left lane so that he can make an illegal u-turn n head back his own way as he missed his exit?

anyway...its 4 in the morning..he could just be a tired driver

chill ok dude

one thing we are all united in... is that we are all cover lovers, whatever we choose to drive.

if we aren't, why are we splurging on these cars when it's so unaffordable here! buying a nice car here is really a money-losing proposition.

anyhow, i've got an even funnier story...

one night about 10pm near my place, i was waiting at a traffic junction for the lights to change. next to me was a black Impreza kitted up to look like an STI. with rims, high mount spoiler, STI rims, STI hoodscoop, and meters. i couldn't tell it was an impreza, actually... then when the lights changed, i did my usual getaway, pretty relaxed but brisk also, maybe even gentler than normal cos i am careful in case other "fierce cars" might think i am challenging them. then i could hear his car really hard throttling, and he did get away faster than me. i didn't bother, anyway... just looked over cos the sound was really loud.

BUT... he was actually not going very fast.... THEN this WHITE REAL WRX (dunno if STI) pulled up alongside him... matched speeds for awhile... and blew him off effortlessly, pulling away easily. the black impreza couldn't even smell.

i think only then i realised the black car may not have been an STI... and i found it hilarious because the white WRX was prob pissed off... prob thinking "wahlau, i spent XXk more than you to buy REAL WRX/STI... and you wanna copy the look?! eat this! something that you cannot copy!!!"

*just sharing my thoughts on what i think was a funny incident, don't mean any harm... even to the impreza driver

well, i believe it's a good car. i seriously considered getting one myself. all 3 are good options for what they are.

not sure if i'm strange, but i like the the styling on the 2003-2005 Impreza/WRX. very brutish look.

i chose the RX8 in the end because i liked the interior more.

hahaha...probably i made it sound too bad but i actually have no problem against
wrx...my best buddy juz got an STI 2mths ago n i was contemplating on gettin one as well for the value for $...
but chose the 8 over the wrx coz i like the look
of the 8 better plus dun really fancy something with turbo...
but overall...when i drove the STI, i can tell it's a really gd car but it juz not really for me...

Anyway, i dun blame the car lah...juz the driver...dun think it was very necessary
for him to show me how brutal his car is...i'm also pretty sure i didn't **** him off
with my 'eager' acceleration...come on, my 8 is still running in...dun wanna do anything to hurt her in the long run..
besides, i'm an behind the wheels...heehee...

Anyway, i agree with Lestat13 that the 03-05 wrx have a very brutal styling...
i like it better than the bugeye or the current model...but i do think the interior
is a bit bland...but i almost couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the casette player
on the head unit...oh my god...i have no idea that cars still have that...very long since i seen one...
my buddy is so worry that his dad is gonna dig out all his chinese oldies casette n start playing it in the car...
anyway, hope i didn't offend any wrx driver with my posts...

I have a number of friends who own WRXs and EVOs. I took some time to interview their decisions and choices, matching them with their characters and such.

The answer has been consistent: "Best bang for the buck." Nothing stereotypical about their background, but one thing in common, they have very competitive nature.

Same question posed to me: "Why buy an RX-8? A car with the same price for less power, less grip and less bootspace."

My answer as always: "Because I love to drive."

Well, its only less grip off the line...

Today i was thinking (hope bros/sis here don't find me crude)

"You can have a huge dick but its useless if you can't flaunt or use it. But a well used dick is a good dick"

Sorry, sorry, this just crossed my mind today while driving.

hey... i hope this thread doesn't become a WRX or WRX driver bashing one... haha, anyway i was considering selling my RX8 for awhile... either to liquidate some cash for other uses, or to try another car... but prob not now... the current market prices are not worth giving up the joy of driving my rx8.
