Hi RX8 Singapore

RX8 Malaysia & Singapore Unite!
Hi all,
I'm the president of the rx8 club malaysia and we were thinking of meeting up our neighbours. Probably a track day or convoy event. We may drive down to singapore first in the next month or so. A big gathering of both clubs should be an attractive event.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with the president and committee of the celica club in singapore and they have all come down to sepang for the super gt yesterday.
you can reply in our post at the malaysia rx8 club database.
Cheers
Marcus

Hello Nieghbours.
Hi all,
Just wanna know if you have elected a committee for your rx8 club in singapore? I wanna get the ball rolling on the singapore and malaysia meet up. Can any of you post to me the names of the committee or who to talk to regarding this matter.
Thanks and Cheers

thanks guys
Thanks all for the reply.
Just my suggestion, i think coupe 7 should be the president coz some of you are voting for it unless coupe 7 disagrees. I will be organizing a trip with all of the rx8 members here and we need info on things like...
1) do we still need the ERP?
2) if yes, how much to rent it now?
3) will anyone from rx8 singapore club, escort us from the causeway to our hotel? (coz we ain't good with the roads there)
4) and the program with all the members for 2 days trip. (probably makan place and etc)
We appreciate the feed back and i will be in touch with coupe 7 shortly.
Cheers

Marcus, as there are quite a number of members in our SG club, it has been rather difficult to get a committee nominated. All the active members are very friendly and helpful so there has not been a need for specific committee positions and I doubt a committee will be formed until we really need to - like when we decide to register ourselves as a club/society.
You can get some information about driving into Singapore and ERP here:
http://www.lta.gov.sg/motoring_matte...ring_guide.htm
I presume you guys will try to make a trip here over the weekend? You can save on vehicle entry permit (VEP) coz you don't have to pay VEP fees on Sat, Sun & P.H.
1) do we still need the ERP?
You probably don't need the ERP card reader because foreign registered cars can go through ERP gantries without a card reader (you will be charged a fixed $5 ERP fee per day on your Autopass card when you leave SG). However, most carparks in SG are now Cashcard/ERP based. So I don't know if it will allow you to enter by using a Cashcard or Autopass. Either that or we try to avoid Cashcard/ERP system car parks (quite hard tho).
2) if yes, how much to rent it now?
The cost of renting an ERP In-vehicle Unit (IU) is S$5.05 per day, subject to a minimum of S$10.10. You will also need to pay a refundable deposit of S$122.30 (inclusive of GST). Bear in mind that if you have an IU in your car, the appropriate ERP charges apply when you drive through an ERP gantry. You will not be under the fixed $5 ERP fees per day scheme.
3) will anyone from rx8 singapore club, escort us from the causeway to our hotel?
I'm sure that can be arranged.
4) and the program with all the members for 2 days trip. (probably makan place and etc)
Let us know when you are planning to make the trip and roughly what you all would like to do in Singapore. Then we can see how best to host your trip to Singapore.
