Hey guys,
I heard there is a street in Hong Kong that sells lots of aftermarket products. I am planning to drop by Hong Kong next week and was hoping to grab some parts for my RX-8 (bodykit, spark plugs, oils, etc). Can anyone help me with the street name and location? Thanks in advance.
Regards.

For RX-8 parts, I would recommend you to visit Super GT in Kowloon Bay, you can send them an email to ensure they have the parts for you first. RX-8 is not very popular in Hong Kong and the stock is low.

btw, my 8 is all stock (2nd hand import), any suggestions of the first trim/mod ?
Before doing anything, ask yourself, what is the car lacking of for you? But if I have to pick the first mod, I would suggest a 4.777 final drive gear from Fujita Engineering or more commonly known here as FEED. This mod will give better low end torque by increasing the gear ratio a fraction, although it will lower the top speed of the car, but who needs a top speed over 230km/h?
consumes petrol/engine oil like drinking - normal ?[/QUOTE]
Yes, this is very typical for the Rotary engine, always keep any eye on the fuel guage and dip stick!!

thanks. very detailed indeed - for sure I will keep this in mind and include in the mod list. are you running a workshop or are there any good guys to talk to for 8 so I can drop by sometimes ?
my priority of mods are
1) increase the efficiency of the engine - minimise and effiicient fuel comsumption for same/more power output - heard that spark plugs, wires will help, true ? any other mods
2) stability, better cornering
3) more torque from low rev
4/last) though good looking enough - I think you all agreed, will still allow myself to dress her up a bit, accessories, aero kit...

Yes, we do have a workshop in Fotan, please visit www.kcracing.com.hk for detail.

The two things you mentioned will help a little. Also, you can consider better ignition coils and electrical earthing. However, no matter what you do, the Rotary is not a green engine for the planet Earth.
2) stability, better cornering
Coilover suspension and anti-roll kit will do the job well!
3) more torque from low rev
I would go for the 4.777 final gear modification.
4/last) though good looking enough - I think you all agreed, will still allow myself to dress her up a bit, accessories, aero kit
There are plenty of bodykit style available. Local made or Japanese made, just go online and choose. It is not hard to make an order through a shop in Hong Kong.

very impressive workshop and the works you did for the 400hp........
any suggestions (brands/links) for ignition coil, earthing and final gear mods ?
btw, which type of engine oil and petrol additives work best for 8s ?

Thanks, mate!! Appreciate your compliment!

Ignition coils, I would suggest Okada Projects, earthing and final gear from FEED.

We are using Motul motor oil but why would you want petrol additives for your car? 98 Octane petrol in Hong Kong are one of the best quality in the world.

I searched and also think Okada is a choice, are those connection wires also need to replace for something better ?

my meaning of additives not to boost power but better combustion - most importantly if I can use it to clean/wash my engine for once..

When you go the final drive, do the LSD for the same time.
My LSD prob well broken in after more than a 2 dozens of track days. Any suggestion of LSD?
I have read what REVspeed (Japan) this month have to say about LSD and I am as confused as ever.
I have heard people using Kaaz, I am tempted for the OS Ganken superlock 2 Way LSD but I am not sure it is too aggressive even for look, but you know when PanSpeed is using the same for their race car ... you tempted to follow.
I am not going to do more in the car after LSD and final drive, coz I decided to save money to invest on an EVO 9, do it up and race it.

You can consider connection wires from FEED or Autoexe.

There is no need for additive unless you use "Red" petrol in your car!!

I would suggest AST carbon LSD! I have it in my car, it is very good so far... I am yet to see its wear and tear but AST says it is stronger than those clutch type LSD.

AST carbon...
Lucky my wife is not behind me.. you are such a bad influence. haha.
Do you have to have special Diff oil for your LSD?
BTW, the connect wire and earth ones from FEED are in good quality, very simple and make sense. I have their ignition coil and V power.
