congrats and welcome to the club....hope you'll enjoy ur ride. for servicing u can get it done at Monster Garage, i always go there for servicing, as they have the engine oil suitable for our rotary engine, try not to use other oils as instead of helping our engine, it might coz problems like clogging of engine and so on. do drop by with ur ride to MG and can learn alot more about the sensitivity, problems, handling and performance of our car. cheers see ya

Regardless mineral or rotary synthetic, it is recommended to change them every 5000 KM. if ur feeling rich, by all means go for the latter. Depending on the brand of the oil used, Syn oil will set u back by $150 - $250
Normal servicing, i.e oil change + filter, most workshop can do tat. i've been doing mine at McWell and DKC using normal mineral. So far so gd and it oni cost in the region of $60s.
Mineral oil tried so far includes Idemitsu, Bizol and Shell mineral. all ok.

Congrats on your new ride, d2d!
Have fun reading all about your baby in the main forums, especially the stickies.. maybe even back to 2004 threads since your car is an '04... A couple of issues with the earlier batch 8s which need to be looked at, if they haven't already been rectified by prev owner. Was he/she a forum member?
Best ppl to ask is MG.. Let them give your car the once-over. I personally only trust either MonsterG or Garage R.
aLip:
Oil issue is still being debated, been discussed on main forums until now if ppl bring it up, chao ang mor will kaopeh. End of the day, even if mineral or rotary synthetic, bad effects won't be seen so soon. Maybe after 40-50k km or much more? But if normal synthetic, then of course engine will go 'piang!' faster.

Welcome bro & congrats for making the choice of a lifetime!
Servicing can be done in quite a number of workshops. MG & HKC are the most popular ones. Price ranging from $60 - $200 depends wat oil u use.
Cheers!

Can't remember what the issues were, maybe the ignition coils, ecu programming, starter motor, clutch pedal bracket? Not sure..It's all over the place, many diff threads, must slowly read.....
or, you could just check with the workshop guys.
What you do need to know is dun put non-rotary synthetic oils, and check and topup the oil level every thousand kms or so. And redline it once each time you drive it, but pls not above 2nd gear, otherwise license can go make soup liao

Issues pertain to the '04 manufactured cars, although some chassis numbers were highlighted by Mazda in their TSBs.
