Guys, don't need to get too hung up about 230bhp or 250bhp because they are one and the same engine. Even if you get the PI JDM 6MT, you are NOT going to get 250bhp at the wheels. In fact, what you will get is the standard JDM speedcut at 180km/h. And if you intend to 'mod' your ride anyway, then those numbers don't mean a darn thing. Mod/tune and you'll get whatever you get.

Totally agree...no way we can get 250ps at wheel regardless if its a jdm type S
or a euro spec type S...Seriously speaking, I doubt we even get 250ps at crank...
I think Mazda seriously over rated the output of the car...
Which is y I think I have to continue doing wat I do every nite b4 I sleep...Pray
that when i wake up, my car actually output 250ps at wheel...will someone please
ans my prayers....
heehee...

FIing, wich left u wif onli the 6mt choice(4at is out for ya here),heat will b a big issue. a 'good' bumper to invite a gd flow of current to brin away twice the amt of heat rotary released.tis is inclusive of upgraded coolers & radiators.
& frankly, very little undercarriage upgrades r available 4 our 8.nt much can b adjusted wif the stock a-arm to improve the caster;unlike silvias hv aft-mkt caster arms.
dun misunderstd,nt tryin to pour u 'coldwater',juz wana share.tere r much to set up 4 a 8 s compare to a FD or FC wich hv more options.cheers!

I understand the BHP figures aren't accurate at all.
But why is the JDM model 250BHP and the MM agent ne only 230BHP, is it an ECU thing, or something else.
Thanks for the expert advice....

erm... personally... get the MM 6mt... comes with 2 oil coolers... 6mt from PI comes with 1 oil coolers if i'm not wrong... and everyone knoes that rotary engines are prone to heat problems... u will need that extra oil cooler, esp in our hot weather... and if u are going to need lots of torque... which comes in at later rpm... u better provide ur engine with enough air conditioning... heh heh heh... just my opinion...
as for the difference in horsepower... the MM agent one is euro spec, thus need to meet more stringent (spelling error?) emission level... at least thats what i remember someone saying...

I know the RX8 problem, the low power low torque, lack of aftermarket parts, etc...so i'm still struggling. But I defitely like it's looks. Or else, i already go for Rex.
