Just got back from Sunway...... Saw red Rx8 at JC Racing...... Looking at mods done to this car, im assuming its urs...... I saw the BMC filter, AutoExe Exhaust, Nology Plugs etc....... Car was there getting Defi Meters installed...... Num Plate???? Hahahaha.........W**3133

Hi Everyone here,
I am searching for a RX-8 now with the specs Manual 6-Speed, Sunroof, MazdaSpeed Body Kit, 8 Air-Bag and TV Navigation and Red in color..:-) . I know.. it's hard to find that is why I still can't find one till today. I have been going around KL/PJ last week, but I can only find Auto ones. Here's the Location I have covered so far :
1. Sunway
2. Jln Kuching
3. Cheras Autocity
4. Old Klang Road
5. LDP (near Tmn Megah)
If you have any info on other location, can you please let me know.
I have a few question on the car :
1. where can I covert the GPS to use English and Malaysia Map? is that possible?
2. Any recommended service center for RX8 for the forum members here?
3. Is it important to Mineral Engine Oil? if yes, what is recommended?
4. Due to the Traffic Jam and Heat here, what can be done to reduce the engine from overheating? is this a problem for you guys on overheating in jams?

its better u go the forum Photo gallery section and look for the "Tokyo Auto salon 2007" thread and see all the rx8 and consider whether u would like to have any of those new bodykit 1st, if u do u better look for a normal bodykit cause u can get the car cheaper for the future bodykit. if u dun like them then just go for mazdaspeed ones.

If I'm not mistaken, a stock JDM Type-S doesn't come with sunroof and 8 airbags. There are optional accessories.
As for your questions,
1. Don't think so but there are options to install a GPS
2. I personally go to C&C to service the car
3. After reading the posts from this forum, there's 2 schools of thought on this. I guess it's up to you on which school you would wanna follow
4. No problems on overheating for me

There is a new shipment of RX8's comming to SG Motor Damansara Uptown sometime this week or next week...... Last shipment they sold the exact car you were looking for.... Red,6MT Type S, GPS/DVD screen,8 Airbags, Sunroof, Red/Black leather seats, Sport Package Aerokit etc etc...... They told me that there are 8 units on the way.........
Was there last week looking @ the Evo9's that they took over from EON Glenmarie..... Very tempting....

I like everything bout my Rx8, it has great looks..... very good handling, an amazing interior and good power.....
But there lies the problem, i want more power....... I want something that gives me the SHOVE in da back like my previous RX7 Efini FD3S & Evo5 gave me !!!!! Sooooo, looks like im in the market for another performance car...... Evo 9 would be a nice addition.......
Still gonna keep my Rx8 though....... Im just in love with it......BUT..... there are days that i just wanna huge BURST of power !!!!!! I know i could just mod the hell outta my Rx8 engine......hahahah......BUT........ Ive learnt through experience......Im not about to make the same mistake i did with my Rx7 (blew 6 engines in my quest for more power).......... Im gonna do what i did after i learnt that bitter lesson.......
What did i learn????? u ask........
Go out and get an Evo instead.......hehehehehe........... Just be happy with a reliable rotary state of tune (don mod too much)....... and use the money u intended to spend on upgrading the hell outta ur RE motor on a much more reliable ride.......
That way, u can have the best of both worlds......... Trust me, in the end it'll all cost u about the same amount of money but with an added advantage......

here is the basic types of JDM rx-8 categories:
normal 4AT 4 speed automatic
normal 5MT, 5 speed Manual transmission
Type-E 4AT, 4 speed automatic with DSC, Cruise control, Leather seats.
Type-S 6MT, 6 speed manual, 6 port engine.
some special edition:
shinka version, not very sure about perfomance but white interior.
Mazdaspeed Version, Special order from mazda. if not mistaken only come in
silver and galazy blue. not 100% sure.
Mazdaspeed limited version, only 200(or not mistaken 600) units. only comes
with purple colour got extra 10 mazdaspeed things
in the car.
2007 version, M'z tuned rx-8, Special tuned car. not much info here.

I would love to mod but this car will be mostly be used by my wife, so I will keep it stock as possible. Yes, she likes a manual...:-). I will only a weekend user...:-(.
I saw couple of Evo9 at SG as well.. the price is way out of my budget. The WRX Sti version 8 is pretty tempting though...:-).

that 198K MS rx8 dont have sunroof nor tv dvd...
this car has been sitting around for a daaaaaman long time... last time i checked the price was 200K after all this while they wanna less 2K only?
but if u still wan to get it... u coult try get 10K off the price...
they should b happy to finally make the sale... if they wanna hang tough, let them... see how long they can do it.

i saw a manual, red, Full MS bkit (except rear bumper is stock) Cf bonet, navi, 8 airbag, leather seat, some weeks back in motor trader. if u really been looking a long time... u should have seen this 1.
anyway... i appreciate your taste... only thing is i dont think the 8 air bag is not all that necessary...its extra weight anyway...
by the way u prefer leather or fabric cushions?

I have only been checking Motor Trader since last week. I have missed couple of issues. I don't think I have come across the red one you mention. sigh!! probably it's been sold by now. The reason I want a 8 airbag is because I am carrying kids behind...:-). actually leather will be my first choice..
