if i can get 220 , i will live with it even i have to pour octane booster every time i fuel up :P actually i bought 10 cartons of 500ml afterburn now, for my use rest of this year :P

lets hope after the header change , and the tuning that i am going to do, i can extract the best i could out of this renesis in N/A mode.

Like that very troublesome coz when u want to go track u need to exchange the NA to 20b after track u need to change the 20b to NA I suggest to u again buy another 8 and put the 20b in and the extra engine give me for birthday gift haha......but just wondering how much max HP can get from 20b?

Nappa leather is one of the most expensive kind of leather nowadays, it has no grains. it is mostly used in mercedes sl55 / cl55 / s55 series and also known as the leather for the designo interior. it is 2-3 times more expensive then normal leather because it is hard to find a perfect piece of cow hide without damage or scars .

Used to be most expensive is conolly leather but conolly has went bankrupt thus bently/ferrari and the others are also using a type of nappa but synthetically enhanced one as well.

my interior hrmm .. my digital camera is in the office, once i go back to work i will take the camera and take the photo to show u guys, its most likely done, nothing to shout bout just that the nappa leather makes the car looks classier "towards conti style". I also have a custom 2din audio "panasonic system" , with reverse camera / "bluetooth phone/ipod integration" <-- addon module on the way. but still using the original speakers, they already sounds not bad, so i don't think i am going to change. nevertheless, another mod i may do is to dynamat extreme the whole car. i am hearing all the road noises now.

When u said something about road noise when u driving around i can tell u that
Rx8 is really sux on this issue coz when u can know that when u close ur door.Of course we can't compare wif the continental car but the best 1 i sat before is Alfa GT....u really can't hear the road noise when driving around and the Alfa GT seat is damn comfortable.....

yeap .. i got 2japanese car.. others are conti , one of it is a murano, i had it soundproofed with tonnes of wurth soundproof material, it was noisy, better now .. the 2nd one is the rx8 , noisy as hell .... the conti's are all very quiet :P not to forget lexus are also very good when it comes to comfort, when can mazda and nissan follow :P

I have pondered this "POWER" issue with regards to the RX8. After many months of research, thinking, head scratching, pondering, soul searching etc etc ......... Ive sort of resigned myself to the reality that a outright AutoBahn (as in the German AutoBahn.....not the Bodykit brand ) stormer......my 8 will never be.....at least not in a reliable manner........

Took into consideration many many things......... As things are for the time being, id be terribly happy if i could get 230whp outta my eight.......... Im trying my very best to avoid going the Forced Induction route......BUT......im not saying that im not seriously considering it !!!! Ive got plans for modding my Rx8 very throughly laid out...... Can't wait to get started...... However, experience from owning my previous Rx7 dictates that one should NEVER rush into things when it comes to Rotary's....... Also, NEVER EVER try exceeding the limits of the RE engine......I should know.....I went through countless replacement engines/ rebuilds/ portings etc etc with my previous RE

Basically;

20B --- installing this engine would be an unimaginable nightmare......Even Peter Ferral ( a well known RE tuner in the US) ran into numerous problems when they were dabbling in the 20B transplant project FD3S..... Biggest problem??? Trying to make it fit into a 13B subframe (not long enuff to clear an extra rotor)........ Not to mention steering rack clearence issues !!! Like what u ask...??? Ever thought where that extra lenght from an extra rotor is going to go in our 8???? If u push engine to the front, ud get steering rack clearence issues.....They actually had to relocate the Steering rack of their FD froject 20B car which led to considerable amounts of bump-steer..... If, u push it towards the firewall.....then ud need to cut away quite a fair bit of the transmission tunnel..... OMG, just thinking bout it now gives me a headache .......

Porting --- Now this is something i might consider......HOWEVER..... since this is NOT a forced induction engine.....plus the fact that it is a high compression 6 port rotary that has its exhaust ports relocated to the sides instead of the rotor housings as opposed to the 4 port FD engine (with conventional exhaust ports)....Logic says that any gain would be minimal at best..... Which leads us to......

Forced Induction (TURBO) --- Like everything bout this except a couple of small issues......

*running 0.4-0.5 bar of boost isn't all that appealing at all to me. 1.0 bar is MUCH more my kind of thing (as far as RE goes.....if piston definately more than that). Prob is running 1.0 bar of boost on a Renesis WILL definately KILL the engine...... Nevertheless, im gonna continue monitoring other ppl's projects and look at how far they get in relation to this........

*you loose that nice NA high pitch Ferrari'ish (Fujita Exhaust) exhaust note...... Turbo don't really sound all that nice.... Example ; NA F360,F430, Porsche GT3 etc etc..........

*Reliability --- Eventually......which means it'll just be a matter of time b4 u loose an Apex Seal



Whatever it is......im soooooo in love with RE engines and the RX7/Rx8 body style in particular....... This car will be with me for a LONG LONG LONG time to come...... Hopefully, someone will do enuff R&D on the Renesis with regards to increasing power figures significantly...... In the mean time........ Maybe a Scooby as a 3rd car......hahahahahaa

well. there had been a lot of succesfull 20b project already. a lot in a matter of fact. 650~900hp turbo 13b , the only problem they have is where the endlinks/shaft keeps on breaking cause too powerfull , they are looking at titanium ones now ..

as for porting, i never like porting :P

turbo .. actually if i am going to put turbo, the first thing i will do is to open the engine up , maybe better apex seal , better apex seal spring, heavy duty essentric shaft , before i go the turbo route, and if i go the turbo route, it would be the mazsport kit instead of greddy. tune it properly, and never run the engine without octane booster "heck i have 10 cartons of afterburn sitting around" .

often detonation is the one that kills the seal, not the turbo. our fuel suck, so if we tune it too lean, thats where the problem came. I blew a v8 kompressor engine cause of knocking once after the ecu was sent back to a reputable tuner. luckilly the car is under warranty so i got it replaced with the engineers wondering what went wrong :P

the other reason why i have so many afterburn is after i put my stock car "ecu untouched yet" on the dyno the other day, guess what .. .AFR14.8~15.1 on the chart. SO FREAKING LEAN .. Scared the hell out of me... i guess since i am going to fool around with the ignition timing as well i might as well get those octane boostie ready. who knows its my savior, so far i had not heard any knock yet ... i think i need another set of knock sensor, one for each rotor ...

some longlife seals i found, but seems its for the fd3s, i heard there are some reliable seals where we could use if we want to rebuild the renesis , also instead of buying a turbo kit, the fun might be there to actually build one,

Turbonetics charger
Spearco Intercooler "probably a air/water unit" so we could hide the fact its turbo :P"
Customized piping
Microtech Engine management
Upgraded fuel pump
Upgraded Injectors
Boost Controller
A new oil pan ? for oil return ..
wideband o2 ???? "for a/f datalogging during tuning"

the only problem we have in malaysia opposed to the usa is, we can't find any real good custom "metal" fabrication shop, its everwhere in the usa, give them a drawing/spec/material u need used and they will get it done for u. even titaniums is pieace of a cake for them ..

also since we are adding more fuel , the worry is the engine light may come on when it detects its too rich , so we may actually need to find out what kind of signal/volt the injector/fuel pump is feeding to the ecu, tap the line going towards the ecu, with a diod probably so the signal dosen't bounce the other way, put in something "resistors ???" that may actually feed the ecu with the signal it likes :P
