Pics of Super GT Promo
Hi all,
There will be an rx8 club malaysia meet up tonight at the usual place. We will then convoy down to KL city (if participation is big enuf). The route for the convoy will be discussed during the meeting.
We will also have our official logo out already and we will start planning for our next outing. Meeting tonight starts at 8.30pm. Convoy will leave at 9.00pm.
Here are some pics on last weeks tour around Sunway area. There were police escorts and marshalls. All of the media was present too. Our parent club JSOC worked together with SIC organizers to instill more awareness for the Super GT 2005.

RX8 Club Malaysia Logo
Hi All,
We have agreed with our new club logo on our last meeting and we will now show some pictures on the car sticker that we have come up with.
The logo for the car sticker will be unique. The rotary shape will remain in grey where as the rx-8 logo will be coloured for each individual cars. (eg... if your car is red, the rx-8 logo will also be in red)
I already have your orders and we are in process of making the stickers. The committee will hand em out during our next meeting.
Regards
Marcus - President (rx8 club Malaysia)

Hei Marcus,
By the roadside is a weird way of meeting the president of the club. Must make it more appropriate.
Where exactly do you guys meet up? and how do you join the club?
Cheers

Hi Adriantvk,
I shipped my car back from Australia and there's quite a lot of 6 speed manual in Malaysia. In order to do that, first you need to own the car for at least 9 months and insurance is compulsory. Keep the car rego that proves you own the car for at least 9 months and insurance policy. You would also need an letter of enrolment of the University you're study in, if you're a student. Then a photocopy of your driving licence and passport that shows your departure and return date. In another word, pls bring anything that regards to your car.
Just FYI, i paid RM65k for tax and RM10k shipment.
Cheers

WOW look at all those 8 owners in Malaysia.
Nice club. I got 167.7 RWP on a dynojet at 7,200 RPM before the DSC kicked in. I got at least another 10 more HP and 2000 RPM to go!
Beside I hear the Dynojets show low numbers, like 20 to 25 ponies less than the real thing.

Well, the truth is that it's easier to get parts in US than in Malaysia. I have to wait for two months to ship my things here. Some of the parts i found is slightly cheaper in US such as the Greddy Turbo, some radiator and etc (consider higher tax in MAL than US). But after the installations and labors, the cost will be even. Therefore i dont think there's much differents.
A tri-rotor engine?? I think of that as well. But a quote by a senior RX7 owner here says that it will cost RM40000 plus, included every thing from engine to exhaust, labours, mounting modifications and etc. There's not much 2 liter rotary here. Maybe you can be the first RX8 in Malaysia to put that in!!!!!

the size of our club is rather small compare to wat we can find in Singapore. Hoping to gain more momentum with more active members in the future.
MOst of my fellow friends got 180hp on wheel for manual and 140hp for auto. I havent dyno mine yet. But shouldnt you turn off the DSC when dyno. Is yours auto or Manual?

I would think that the parts here are more expensive but the labour here is cheap. So if after market parts are concern, it will be the same price as in all over the world. I gather that thailand would be cheaper. But we have to drive our cars there and fix the items, then only come back to malaysia so that we won't be taxed again.
So far, our mechanics here has yet to learn up on the renesis engine. Most of the workshops here are afraid to even touch it or tweak it. Even modding or upgrading the ECU, no one knows. Maybe this will be possible in a couple of months to a couple of years.
Cheers
