Mazda MX5 Accident
I believe that most of u had come across the news regarding about a crash test drive Mx5.
The poor Sale Girl is killed just because the Driver can control the Mx5.
Worst of all is he do not know that those metal plates used to cover the road works are very slippery.
Saw her picture in the Straits Time this morning. still so young 22 years old.
Very irresponsible guy. If want to speed , should do it alone.

Personally I noticed that the drivers here in Lion City are getting worse. They have no idea of the purpose of the fast lane; would brake when changing lane on a four-lane highway (like a tank sort of driving!) and generally oblivious of their general surroundings ie other motorist... or am I getting older? ;-(
I suspect that with the falling prices of cars recently, you have now a lot more newbies on the road ala the MX5 accident.

The driver did not even apologize.
There has been case like this before where the driver accidentally kill the friend, but the drive did feel sorry for what he had done.
but not this Driver (a Store Keeper.) the paper said that this driver drove a Mecedes to test drive the Mx5, so the sales person must also thinks that he is capable of buying the $110K car. so how to reject a potential customer.
Wonder whose Mecedes are those......

my deepest condolences to her family.
It's an absolute tragedy that he didn't know how to properly drive that vehicle and that an innocent girl paid the ultimate price or it.

So sad, my heart goes out to her family and friends.
Im sure mazda will be looking into this, its got to be one of the first major REAL crashes of the 3rd gen. Looking at the after pictures of the car, its amazing anyone survived, let alone the driver walking away.
If this was a LHD car, the sales woman would have been fine and the driver killed.
Reminds me of the story about the kid who wanted a test drive of a SRT4, the sales man drove and took them for a spin around the block, it was somewhere up north with snow....short of the story the SRT4 fliped and crashed, although everyone lived.
It so stupid, people get into a car, the first time they have ever driven it, and think they can blast down the road....so stupid and needless.

Some reports suggest another car might have caused the mx5 to swerve, moreover the road was slippery and the rest we all know what happen. A friend of both the driver and sales lady posted on some thread.
Pity....

My gosh, didn't have the chance to see those pics on the papers but from the degree of damage on both the cars, the silly driver must have been driving at a ridiculous speed.
The BM driver and the sales girl's family should sue the pants off that guy...

My heart goes out to the girl's family.
It is most unfortunate that we have morons like these walking
the face of the earth.
To everyone here, please drive slow and be very careful when driving that stretch of U. Paya Lebar/Paya lebar,
it is quite dangerous with all the curves, all the up and down metal ramps and the turn offs from nowhere. Rainy days, the metal parts of the road are very slippery.
On a lighter note, if we travel fast along that stretch of road,
it's quite damaging to our lowered suspensions, front spoiler and side skirts.
