Maybe a normal 1.6 liter car that as much lower fuel consumptions and lower insurance and lower maintainance and also cheaper to repair incase of accidents.
But the car an accountant drives also depends on where he/she stand in the company.
I believe a Managment post will definitely spend more,

Just like those who are willing to buy $50-100K watch but drives a $50K car
One thing I really do not understand that. Why is the Mazda Rx8 body kit much more expensive than those for Evos and STI???

I know a few accountancy people. Some are still taking public transport. One takes public transport but live in a landed property. As a whole i still think people in accountancy are quite money wise.
Back to topic. I will not mind spending the money if it either has a functional or resale value. I will only pay up to a certain amount for styling.
Of course there are those who will pay loads for style; just like how women will pay $3k plus for a small piece of a dead cow (which in my opinion, overpriced and unedible).
Watches though expensive but has both functional and resale value.
