Monster Garage?

I keep seeing people mention monster garage here. I have never heard it before. Are they good? Prices reasonable?

First THREE pages of this month's issue of Hotstuff magazine has their advertisement.
Better still, go down to their place and survey.
Check out the two Miatas too. Both with the familiar M stickers

Well, apart from the high-and-mighty Garage R, Monster is one of the very few, if not the only other one that specializes in rotaries. i wouldn't trust anyone else to handle my 8, not even my PI's workshop

I saw that ad in hot stuff. Never heard of monster garage before this. If they are new, how to say they are specialist for rotaries?

Hmmm....good question. Now wait for answer.

For me, they are one of the few shops that bring in rotary parts and I have no complains about their workmanship.

If anyone has complains, I'm sure they can voice out on their own. I'm pretty sure they are smart enough to discern what is good and what is not, and matured enough to speak their minds straight up instead of going around stirring ****.

aiyoo, nowadays here ppl now and then always seem abit edgy.

anyway, trying to go back to the topic. on a neutral feedback, i only serviced with MG before. i can't comment on mods as i've not done any there but i heard they are quite good in that area. as for servicing, it was generally ok as i just did normal servicing.

but one thing i was uncomfortable with was the lack of a checklist for each servicing period. like you know how maybe at 20k change brake fluid at 40k change something. when i inquired, they told me that they don't need a checklist and because they are very experienced they only change things when they feel they need to change and that they are not like other workshops who use checklist. i guess i am just more traditional and feel more comfortable if they go through a list of task like check oil, check tyre pressure, etc. instead of just looking at my tyre and say no need to check pressure cuz it looks fine. when i serviced with other workshops, with the procedure, it just looks more "complete".

ivan, u'll probably read this but know i am not complaining hor, just normal feedback. i will still go back and try a few more servicing to see how it goes and if i am comfortable, continue with servicing there. just my two cents.

I changed my suspension with MG and was quite uncomfortable with the Cusco as I prefer a softer setting... to the extent that even the softest setting was too hard for me. Was also uncomfortable with the noise generated.

But Ivan, Mike & Darren and the rest of the staff at MG worked on it for me and resolved both issues without hesitation promptly. Thumbs up and keep up the good work! Appreciate it =)

I have NEVER seen any of my mechanics going thru a checklist whilst doing any kinda of inspection or servicing thus far. I assume its their daily bread and butter and should be well verse in the items to check or change. But on hindsight, a checklist will be good to have.

Like I said, I think a lot of people here knows what a good job MG has done on their 8s. Maybe it takes my posting here to bring out all their compliments for MG. I don't need to be smart or mature to see whether you are stirring **** or 'just disturbing CoupeM only', because I leave it to the readers to decide for themselves so my smarts or maturity has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for your 'compliments', but I think most people here know I've been a master here long before some stir-loving person grew 'pubis'.
