Need advice on Volks Racing GT-AV Rims Specs

Hi guys,

I am interested in getting this 18" rims. However, I am not sure what are the specs that can fit my car. I have the intention to change my brakes in future.

1) What's the width of the rims I should go for? 8? 8 1/2? or 9? Or should I go for offset?
2) How "deep" can the dish go? 31 mm? 41 mm?
3) What tyres is the most quietest and offer reasonable grip on wet roads?

Any advice will be appreciated!!

You have a lot of variables that preclude giving you much advice.

Some brake kits won't fit certain wheels...and depending on the wheel style, offset and the width will determine what lip or "dish" you can get.

FYI if the offset is right...you can cram in up to 10" wheels/275 tires on all four corners.....

As for tires....what are you looking for...performance..all-seasons???

Do a search and pin down a few variables first......and then we can give you some better advice

staggered setup:

18x8 +22 (44mm lip, will fit big brakes)
18x9 +31 (69mm lip, low disk type)

non-staggered:

18x8 +22 all around (will fit big brakes up front)
or
18x9 +29 all around (will fit big brakes, 50mm lip)
18x9 +30 all around (will NOT fit big brakes, 63mm lip)
18x9 +31 all around (will NOT fit big brakes, 69mm lip)

I think you need to relook at these #'s........not going to happen ( might fit on a 350Z though )

they will not stick out, depending on how low the car is, you MIGHT have to modify the fenders. but these sizes will work.

i am running 18x9.5 +38 all around with 255/35R18 all around with JIC coilovers. no rubbing at all. with 9" wide wheel you can go as low as +30. INGS runs 19x8.5 +22 offset with fender modification, so an 8" wide wheel will be perfectly fine. the sizes i gave you are the most aggressive you can get for the RX8, of course you can be a little more conservative with the offset.

my volks are 19x9.5 +36 and it's perfect. the fronts are 19x8.5 +34 and it's a little too conservative for me...i should've went with a +29

go to the meetup or come outside MG... u will see many patterns. some stagger, some play deep dish... some play all round same size, some buy taiwan rims then regret becos dun cater to BBK.

if u r interested, tan280 has a set of WORK VF-KS rims for sale. Very nice deep dish, and can cater for ENDLESS or GREX 6 potters...

Maybe u can get him to show u a pic or 2... selling cheaply too i tink..
