Well.. i 've just gotten a green light 2 get my very 1st car and i've decided 2 get an 8. Think that it's really a very cool, nice and yet an elegant car. Sigh.. now comes all the technical problems..

i know all these questions have been discussed in the previous threads and been answered numerous times but some of them i just can't seems 2 find their answers or rather they are pretty indirect.. anyway hope u guys will help me out in this..

1) as a person who likes 2 play wif car (think i may just give it a go since i'm going 2 get a sports so i wanna try playing around wif it.. ) it's advisable 2 get a 6MT so i'll have a betta control of the car in terms of the gearbox management?

2)what is the MM and PI u all referring 2? wat i figure out is PI is parallel import but MM..... -_-" really no idea.

3)from wat i read from the threads here the car is now approx 127k wif coe.. is that true? where should i get them? 6MT black or shiny silver..

4) there's a spoiler that i've been wanting 2 add is the low spoiler, not carbonfiber one. it suppose 2 be in the same colour as ur car, by mazspeed i think.... 4 those people who actially plays initial d ver 3. ya it's the tune A spoiler. i love that spoiler..

5) hum.. let say i'm buying a new car.. how long does it takes for it 2 arrive sg and able 2 drive it? cos i'm taking my license now... so i may want 2 calculate the time needed 4 it 2 come 2 sg or something like that... so that i need not wait too long b4 i can drive MOI RX-8~~~~! hehehehe feeling the urge now while typing already.....

6) any important things that i may need 2 look into while i'm getting the car? so i won't get kon????

Well... it's really a list of long and old questions... but to me they are damn new to me... really need exp pple out there like u all to guide me along wif this... 10x a million in advance... (^_^)

 

I'll be quick and to the point:
1) Yes, get 6MT if you wanna play.
2) PI = Parallel Importer, MM = Mazda Motor (Mazda agent in Singapore)
3) 4AT is only available from PIs, 6MT is available from PIs and MM. $127K is from MM. Black is nicer but harder to maintain. Colour is really personal, so better to decide yourself.
4) Hmm.. u didn't really ask a question.
5) If there is ex- stock, you can get it within 2 weeks. If not, maybe 1-2 months? Anyway, all the best for your driving tests. Is it easy/hard to pass the 1st attempt nowadays?
6) If you are getting from MM, the only thing you have to do is to bargain for more freebies. If you are getting from PIs, then be careful which PI you buy from. There are some pretty bad ones out there.

Hi zenith, great choice of car. Think you must have played quite abit of ID to be poisoned to buy the 8 and dont worry i will help flyer answer question 4.
If i am not wrong "A" mod should be mazdaspeed and i dont think should be the other 2 spoliers that i have seen which are carbon fibre. BTW those 2 are RE super G and fujita engineering.
Do take note that mazdaspeed looks nice but definitely not the cheapest spoiler around. It will set you back at least $2k but good point is that it comes already painted and the colour match is perfect. Heh heh.. not as cheap as spending just $10 on the game right.

I dont play as much arcade as i used to but feel free to ask me or virus if it has got something related to arcade games. Err... also dont believe in maximum tune too much cause none of it makes sense, just play for the fun of it. Driving the real deal and the game is totally different.

 

Oh yeah whenever you want to head down to the arcade just give me and virus a buzz, we mostly patronise MS.

let's say i wanna get the spoiler from mazdaspeed... so how do i go about it? like i get my car 1st then fix up later on? or is it possible to do both at once?

 

fix up? never say fix up bro....it's modication all the way baby...most will even say just mod....haha :D Sure, do both at once, provided you def know what you want. I'd have to say however that I found it better to drive the 8 for a little while first, get to know it and understand its capabilities....then can find exactly what's best to mod based on yer driving needs. Some will only choose body kit over performance....but I've had my 8 for a year now and just haven't gotten around to body kit yet :p

 

icic but somehow.. i just dun really like the 8 without the spoiler... i think it'll really make it a beauty wif the spoiler... especially the mazdaspeed 1 that goes wif the colour...

visualisation will tempt you....... come look for us.... but one word of caution, stay further away from my car!! if not dun blame me if before u even get the car, u oredi start ordering parts!!! :D :D :D

 

and yes, when u do up ur car, dun kan cheong....... if u r the kan cheong type, take out 30K one shot.... shld be able to do up most things, if not, all, to ur car that is available in the market for rx8.

Zenith, if you are sure you want to get the car with the MazdaSpeed spoiler, it'll be a good idea to order it together with your car so that it comes as "standard" for insurance purposes. Come join us at the meet-up and we can answer all your questions there.

so i'll tell the dealer at MM that i wanna get an 8 and add the mazdaspeed spoiler? will they order it 4 me and fix up as well? wat's the procedure? i'm like all stripped naked here n dunno wat 2 wear like det... waiting 4 all ur advises... (^_^)

 

Yeah, if u r buying from MM, tell your SE that u wan to get together with MS Spoiler. Not only the insurance is cover, MM will also recongnise it :D
