If just a BOT kit can keep up with standard evo, I don't actually mind. But then again, the reliability is a question mark. Rebuilt an engine cost too much. If just few k RM for rebuilt, I already put it on earlier. Cheap cheap also need RM13k, cannot play play. Mine just paid 21k, need to becareful.

Really expensive indeed.... but if you check compression from time to time, rebuilt it according to your budget, it'll be cheaper...... Rebuilt only cost 8k, your case is you blow it..... I won't pay that much for an engine....

I pay more for a reason. If next time I blow it up again , I will have a reference for the porting session .

Again, do you find the solution for the BOT kit to become reliable or not? Or maybe need to change fuel pump besides ECU tuning.

maybe we dont have to change to an FD engine to get the power of FD, wha makes the FD more powerful mabbe is becos the lower compression and therefore the capacity to withstand more boost which means more power...so.... maybe all u need to swap is the FD rotoes and apex seals...
the Renesis hs its advantages aswell becos of the side intake ports

so maybe the ideal setup for rx8 could be a BOT + rx7 rotors&seals + biggerturbo + better EMS

Nothing such as reliable for modded car...... It would be reliable if you don't overreved, maintain frequently, don't rev when the fuel level is low, check compression, upgrade cooling system..... But then it still will blow, ever notice race engine would last only 3000km-4000km, n those engine was well balanced then ours'...... Don't drive like you stole it everyday, best thing to do.....

I just would keep quiet until you have put on RX7 rotor and fail it..... But since now you ask, i would give you a clue..... Look at the side seal and O-ring seal of Renesis and FD rotor......

You are not the first thousands to think of this idea, i tried......

Modified rotor is still possible, but would be very hard..... You need to carve three different sections into equal thickness and shape, then still need balancing machine for this..... Can't be done here.....

If you use RX7 aftermarket seals, you need machining to groove the seal sittings..... I did this and believe this is pretty strong...... American seals goes thru cryogenic (term not so sure) process, which freeze it intensively then heat it, that process is done for couple of cycles, then you have 7 times stronger seal.....

More boost need more tyre grip, plus AWD would be better for 400hp monster IMHO...... RX7 max boost is 1 bar, yet still very powerfull....
