New RX-8
Hey guys, just got my new RX-8, its been a real fun driving it :p Quick question for everyone, how often do you guys wax the car and is there any good place to wax it? Heard alot about using Zaino and Glaze, is there any difference between the two? Seem really tedious to spend 5 hours waxing and drying the car.....appreciate any advice and comments! Also, any good body shop recommendation for RX-8?? Been trying to look for accessories and parts to upgrade....

hi Renesis888
Welcome! do add your name to the 'The 8 List...'
Well actually Zaino and Glaze are of very different thing. Zaino is a wax system whereas Glaze is a one off (last for 18months) sealant system.
Everything have its pros and cons. Search for Glaze, there are 1 or 2 thread discussing about it.
As in accessories, quite hard to get off the shelves in Singapore. Most are self order thru the net (check out the Vendor sect) or go thru the work shops here. Again quite a few have been discussed!
I would suggest you read up a bit on this section of the forum, as its mainly from us Singaporean!
Have fun reading!

Welcome Renesis888! Now that your car is new, definitely get it waxed or polished immediately to protect the clear coat. Zaino is a polish and it's great stuff. Sure, it takes some sweat to apply, but it lasts for months. You can DIY (the preferred method of us Zaino junkies) or can go to Cazcomp on Simon Rd to have it done for you. Claybar is the key to removing all of the surface contaminents on your car, makes it smooth and ready for the polish. See the Cazcomp website for application tips. If still not sure how to go about, ask back here for more detailed tips or go to the Show and Shine forum for all kinds of info. Happy driving

Hey congrats...well I'm not into cosmetic mods but if you're into performance upgrades, the following should net you about an extra 20-30 hp. Excluding NOS which of course can give you 50-75 hp shots:
Air Intake: 2-3 hp
Decat : 8 hp
Aftermarket Exhaust : 4-8 hp (depending on brand)
Piggback ECU : 15-20 (tuner dependent : Canzoomer, Unichip, Greddy, etc)
Wouldn't recommend a replacement ECU unless you've got a reliable tuner.
Underdrive Pulleys : 4-10 hp (brand dependent)
Lightened Flywheel : Minimal gain but faster response.
For handling : Front and rear struts, shock absorbers. better tyres. (Pretty much good handling on stock unless you wanna pull it out on the track).
All the best to your new 8, let the fun begin !!
For more info, do read the threads under "Aftermarket Performance" and Major Horsepower Upgrades".
