Oil change at Autobaccs?

Has anyone bought the Trust RE oil from Autobaccs and got them to change it for you? How's their service? I think that at $138 for five litres and $5 for the oil change it's quite a good deal.

Otherwise, where did you get your first oil change done? I bought from MM, but I heard that they're just using Shell mineral oil for their servicing instead of rotary engine oil, so I'm waiting to see if all owners who bought form MM can put pressure on them to suppport our cars properly. Besides, the first service coupon I have in my service book is 5000km.

8ster,the 5k is onli a margin for owners to 'keep-in-mind' not to 'cross'...dun wana go thro the hassle of "makin an appt, drive the car dn early 1 mornin, leave the car tere, collect it 4-5hrs later" tingy...hence chk wif those authorise wkshp s they r able to do the same job;minus the 'book an appt'.but they replied tat they r not allowed to use any other oils other then shell's very own.but MM do allow tat.so,bobian,i did the chg on mi own lor.

i mayb abit kiasu here,in fact, the Trust is 2nd chg liao...did the 1st @ 500 but still mineral to run another 1k.the mechs @ ProServe(Shell) told mi tat its not neccessary to do it @ 1.5k yet.

Totally need help! Tink my pa's 8 has not been serviced since he got it early this year! And he's out of town, will anything disastrous happen? Wat am I supposed to do/change if I'm to get it serviced?

May sound really dumb but I'm totally ignorant...

Most of us JDMs' did ours at 1000Km - 1st and 5000Km - 2nd. Subsequently, every 5000Km.

Cheers

Cuscorex, is your Trust the F2 RE which is for rotary engine? It's synthetic rite? How is it so far?

Fab 8 mentioned that synthetic caused his car to have a thumping sound at idle, and when he switch to mineral, the thumping is lesser.

That's was me, yup, I have this thumping sound (do a search on my thread if you wanna know more) coming from the header thru the exhaust. The original oil that comes with the car is mineral base, on my 1st 1k oil change, I used syn, as we all know only half the oil will be swap out, that's when I start to notice the sound. Now that i've use back mineral base the sound has gone away quite abit, stil there, but not as frequent. Like I've said, I'm not 100% sure the mineral base oil is the main cause of reducing the sound, but it's the closest I think of.
