Old bird battery died today
After exactly 2 years 9 months of ownership, my battery has given up. Couple of slow groaning cranks, and that was it.
So now I need to get a replacement battery - anyone can recommend where I can get it changed, and which brand is best? Many thanks.

try panasonic, I usually change batts at nam wah which is at paya ubi 2nd floor. they are the agents for panasonic, Amaron and hoppeke(or soemthing like that). open 7days a week. as they supply AAS also. try to get a maintenance battery as you can add water to prevent the battery from drying out due to the hotter temps in the RX8 engine bay. I just did a load test and found the original batt still good. get them to do a load test to make sure the batt is dying.

Wouldn't it be better in hotter temp area? Cos I was thinking of getting that one...

Thats why. Must check battery once in a while around 1 or 1.5 years of getting the car. A battery usually last approx 2-3 years depending on battery and usage. And our hot humid weather actually shortens the life abit more.
Imagine you are in a rush and car cannot start.

me and my uncle just alight from his car and after walking for 5 meter.
Some thing with in the car exploded.
After opening the car bonnet, found out that the dry cell had exploded ..
Was told that this will only happen on Dry Cell not on the normal Wet batt.
and not much diff in performance between a Dry and Wet Cell.
So in the end me decided only to use Wet Cell, just make sure to top up with batt water everytime I service the car (every 5000 km)

Thanks for suggestions. Went to autobacs to pick up a varta. Didnt know the varta is pretty heavy - 18kg compared to about 16kg for the original panasonic one. At least the starting is now faster, compared to when the car was new.
