Parking Camera + LCD

Parking Camera + LCD
Hello All
Some of the parking kerbs are too high for our stock 8.
Where (a good shop) can I install the reverse camera + LCD?
What is the indicative price?
Where is the best place to mount the camera & the LCD?
Thx.
Cheers.

I installed one... useless... Need a cam that works in low light conditions...
I think the best is like the on the lexus RX330 where you can see your bumper and the kerb... My installation only sees the kerb.

My cam is ok, I can see at night.
Theres no need to see both the bumper and kerb.
Cos the cam can be place in such a way that once u can't see the kerb that means that its time for u to stop the car.
My front cam is position within the Rotor logo , and the rear cam is on the rear bumper just above the rear rotor logo.

Thanks all for the info.
Loh, sorry to know that your installation went wrong.
Morgan, please let me know the shop and indicative cost.
Did anyone install the rear view mirror with built-in LCD for the parking camera? Kindly share your experience.
Cheers.

My rear view cam is quite bright during the night.
Supposedly to be the low light one... aided by the reverse lights and carpark lighting, it's sufficient.
The camera is placed below my rear licence plate, since there is a hole after changing the plate from 2-line to single line one...

airspeed bro,
u're the man! really nice setup.
how much the original flip up LCD cost u? 1.9K?
plus adding the rear cam, is there any modification required on the
screen like addtional cable or software upgrade etc..GPRS incorporated?
how's yr 2 din coming along?
that's a good position for the cam and if the cam is not 0 lux and need more light
for imaging, you can increase the lighting at the licence plate light or reverse lights

No need to angle too much, and also not need to buy 0lux cam.
Just make sure that the cam is a wide angle one. must be able to cover at least 150 degrees. (some can cove max of 170degrees).
and some of the cams for the front are different from those meant for rear view.
1st of all the image are opposite. and most of them are usable under low lights conditions (with the car lights on)

Just as long as the cam is not too close to the Rear lights , then it should be ok.
My cam is on the center of the rear bumper and I'm using the original mazda rear fog light which is very very bright and it does not affect the quality of the cam's image.

Yeah, the LCD costs me abt 2k. But there's a newer LCD dash that is much cheaper. Abt SG$470. Below are the pics. Without the LCD of course.
Don't think I will be doing the 2DIN cos I'm happy with what I have now.
I think you meant GPS? the LCD has 3 inputs, so I might put in Nav into one of the inputs. At the moment, I don't think I'll get lost in SG

Yeah I noe bout the new dash but yours is cooler!
Yeah I mean GPS, too much GPRS surfing lah.
If you want to change to LEDs for the back, there is a high powered bulb with 1 single large LED. Really freakin bright. Yours is MM so u will need 2 pcs for yr plate.
For reverse light, the norm is 15 leds bulb but again there is a higher spec bulb
with 24 led.
