Sorry to bother. I skimmed through the thread and might have missed it. Are there any 8s in any rental fleets in the Metro Manila area? I'm trying to plan my trip to visit my inlaws once my daughter is old enough to stand an 18 to 24 hour flight (she'll be 1 on Monday) and after having to suffer through renting a Ford Mustang when I was on a trip in the Southwestern US with my wife, I'm determined to try harder than ever to find 8s for rent when I travel. Driving an 8 every day when I'm home has spoiled me!!!
So, how about it? Does anyone know if it's possible to rent an RX-8 in Metro Manila? I'd likewise be interested in knowing if there are any RX-8s for rent in or around Makati.
My wife has already warned me about the traffic, jeepneys, and heinous fuel prices.![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Just speculating here; but it seems that for the worst of the roads, you'd almost want an 8 set up as if for Rallying (I checked and there is actually a topic on the forums here about a guy who was rallying his 8 back in 2007. I don't know if it's still rallying, however.).

a rally-spec 8?
I'd be lucky to even GET an 8 here in the philippines.
If i DID get an 8, would it run on our low-grade fuels? I read somewhere that it runs on Ethanol, and we have e10 here now in abundance. But wouldn't the mileage suffer?

Hey to the PI guys. Sorry about what happened there. I was in Guam with the 3 Tropical Storms back to back. Just thought I should say to my fellow Pacific Islanders!

I can bring with me to the PI the next time I go so you dont have to worry about shipping. I just came back from checking out the Manila Auto Salon. Good friends with team Yellow Cab Drift, ATOY, DMF, Auto Plus - MOTUL, and Burnt Rubber Productions.
hit me up by PM!
Lokoebird, still on Guam? LMK if you need parts.

Given what my wife has told me about roads in the provinces, do any of you run a sump-guard or other under-body protection on your RX-8?
It's been over a year now; but my wife, daughter, and I have finally set a date for our trip. We will be in Makati next May (yes, I realize we're insane to be going during the elections), and I gather that the roads or traffic suck hard there. We'll probably be stuck hiring a car and driver (though I'd still love to rent an RX-8 if it were possible).

Just Returned from the Philippines Dec 09
Friends,
Just returned from the Philippines and Brunei....I did not see any RX8 in Manila I was hoping to see some. I am looking at any potential buyers for my 2006 MAZDA RX8 Shinka Edition (Manual T). I got 17,000 MIles on it. I plan on shipping this vehicle to Manila once I get a serious buyer. I will handle the shipping and taxation.
Galaxy Gray in excellent condition. The only sidewalk scratches I have are the two rear rims.
Peace!

I joined protegetech before but after 1 car show, decided I was getting too old for it. Basically I just use my RX8 going from south to Makati twice a week or so. Most days its just parked in my garage.
Thinking of taking the car out to BRC since I have the yearly membership there. Basically I am biker also so I often go out to BRC with my bike. Triumph Daytona 675. You ride? Which city you from?
Regards,

cool. i go to BRC with my bro! we don't bring my car, though. we use his whenever there are track days there.
