Anyway to compare a human to a car is totally off. A human brain is much more complex than a ecu of a car.

CoupeM, no offence at all. The point I'm trying to put across is, modern cars are very complex pieces of mechanical, electrical and electronic machinery. Perhaps moreso a performance car such as the RX-8 than any normal car. For the 3rd time I'm asking, what are you trying to achieve by flashing the SE3P into the FE32? Are they using the same sensors? Is a derated ECU tuning the only difference? Are you willing to sacrifice your 3-yr warranty? Where can you get the ECU flash done? Which version of flash does the "flasher" have? Is it the latest? Is it going to run well? Are you prepared to spend the time to do all the research? That's why I said, there is a lot of other "costs" involved other than just money. Even if money is not an issue, ultimately when the car has hiccups, the owner is the one that suffers the inconvenience, loss of use and waste of time.

Simple misunderstanding of words, but still the same issue nonetheless. Just to clarify when I said "flashing the SE3P into the FE32", I was talking about the flash version as in loading the SE3P flash into a FE32 car and not trying to make the SE3P into a FE32.
Of course MM would never know about a change of flash version (assuming it works properly) until you bring the car in for service. At every service, they will hook up the computer to find out if there is any new version of flash available and update the ECU accordingly. If for whatever reason the SE3P flash doesn't work properly and you screw up your engine management and need to claim warranty, don't you think they will hook up the scanner to find out what's wrong with the ECU? Just another side note for those who are considering aftermarket piggyback ECUs to get around flashing the ECU itself. MM cars come with tamper proof screws to contain the ECU, can't get to the ECU without breaking the screws and thus possibly voiding the warranty. JDM 8s do not have the tamper proof screws as far as I know.

As for PI, Garage R is "supposedly" good but they charge a higher price. Also, they stopped bringing in RX8 for a while but heard that they may restart. Other bros with special relation with the bosses *winks* may be able to advise better...

Thanks. I am actually going for an auto version as the car is meant for my wife. However, I did not know that mazda singapore only brings in the manual version. Though, judging from the feedback, looks like it is safer to go for mazda singapore... Any idea what is the price for RX8 from mazda S'pore?? Thanks again
