Without Prejudice
Hi Princess,
guess it is pretty subjective when it come to issues like that. Personally, i've been shopping for my 8 for the past 1 month. I finally ended up getting from VinCar.
My experience are as follows:-
First PI was a little more ex and delivery was an issue as I wanted immediate.
Second one made lots of promises and finally found out that they can not deliver in terms of loan amount, delivery and warranty issues.
Ended in the last PI and to realised that the SE is not professional at all and making feel like I'm at their mercy. I've gotten comments like:-
Q. Are you able to throw in any freebies?
A. Are you expecting me to give you back all my comm?
Q. Will any wrong info provided to the bank affect the loan amount?
A. Dont know how to answer you!
Q. Can you sent the documents to me for signing?
A. Better for you to come to my office as it is too inconvenient!
Moral of the story, If the price is reasonable, they are prepared to put down in writing the delivery time, accessories and all other issues agreed. Just get it.
I will be getting my 8 before CNY and that is in writing. Anything else cropped up, it will ended up in CASE, Small Claim or my with my lawyer.
Cheers

Hi makimaki,
I am currently looking at the RX-8 also. But out of curiousity, why Pinnacle or Vincar? From the newspapers, still got Hua Yang, BHP Auto and Garage R. And from the 3, apparently only Garage R got the 6AT with Bose. But the pricing is quite more ex than the other 2... and COE only pegged to $10k. If more than that, got to top up... that's why hesitate.

INXS: BOSE system sux?? Didn't know that. Thought BOSE is a good sound company coz their home theatre system is cool.
lawchan77: 1/2 a year wait? Wow! That is a very long wait!

Sux in the sense that it is not worth the premium price of an additional SGD3-5k more.
Bose is not exactly a bang for buck brand, more of a lifestyle.. I cant tell the difference btw a stock one on my rx8 and the bose system on my Mx5, even after digging my ears clean..
My point is.. dont waste the money. Stock is just as good. Shoot me.

Well, at least the new 6AT is 6 ports, except that I'll be missing out the fun in the MT......

INXS: I see. I have never had a different sound system other than the stock one... so that's why I thought having something like Bose will sound better. *shrugs* Thanks for enlightening me.
For those PI with ready stock, the pricing will be higher than those that you need to wait I guess. Furthermore, must see if there is the colour that you like in the ready stock. But one thing is for sure, waiting 1/2 a year for a car is ridiculous.

actually that's not really correct. for those with ready stock price may not be higher. in fact if you want to get non available or special colors, the price just might be higher though not always as they need to indent.

Bros, I may be wrong here, but I'm ordering mine witht he Bose sound system and was told they are not 3-5k more..... Getting mine with the Bose sound system and keyless entry (well deal is done, so even if Bose is not good, boh pian lah)
I suppose what is also important is to look at the COEs, cos I was hunting around and the COEs can vary from 27k to 33k.... That's a lot of diff when you include the import duties.
Hope I get mine on time as promised and I can then share whether the PI is reliable or not.... seems reliable enough anyway, except that almost everything is on indent and that means about a 2 month wait.... still hoping to get my red * everyday.

tincup: Can PM me the PI you getting your 8 from?
As for the OMV, was checking out the LTA web site on it and apparently, last month's average OMV from RX8 Auto is $26,870.
I know the yen has been dropping, but the OMV has dropped very significantly from the previous months.

wat i did was to write in black n white on the sales aggrement that shd the omv falls below this amount (reasonable amt ur SE promised u), they were to rebate me $2 for every $1 dropped.

There are obviously better deals out there, but most that I have looked at, the price always fluctuated with the COE and OMV, ie if price was 5k lower, either COE or OMV was also 5k lower...
Also I have to admit that I was swayed by the proximity of the garage from my home and was reasonably happy with the proficiency of the garage to provide the servicing. After all, they did handle the recall last year....

Its not bad a deal at OMV32k.
Let me see how much is ur premium.
32k x 2.5 + Coe 10k. = 90k.
Not bad.... not bad.. they make only 6-8k.. unlike some other PIs..
selling ard the same price yet OMV is like 25k... farkers.
