Price similar

Mmm... I wonder how PI can sell 6MT RX8 nowadays at $100k plus with Mazda Motors selling the RX8 at $100,800 based on last month's COE quota ($11,489)...if based on the latest COE of $5,200...a new RX8 from Mazda Motors would be like...$94,511? Woah...it's a good time to wait and watch whether PIs would slash prices heh..

the difference is in the OMV. PI 6MT is higher in OMV than MM. reason being MM gets it from factory direct, PI gets the cars from Japanese dealers who already 'earn' a bit.

Now that will be interesting... if Mazda Motors lowers their price to $100k, that will be very competitive. Hmm... but from the sgcarmart web site, the price apprently is now at $108k.

It struck me that if the COE droped to $5.2k the previous time, there should be some cash rebates. And therefore bringing down the selling price of the MM model. Maybe that is why it was shown as 100k. *shrugs* Just my guess...

Actually when the COE dropped to 5200, MM's price for the RX-8 went the other way, 108789 (after cash rebate). Interesting eh? I heard that this was due to supply chain changes, something about cars coming in specific periods only after order.

Since we are on this subject, anybody has experience with Cars Motor Enterprise? Their current deal of $92880 (OMV 30k+), 3 years warranty and servicing tie up with Comfort Delgro seems rather attractive. I'm a newbie so really looking for good advice.

if they can promise u OMV $30K+, then gd deal i guess. Yen has been dropping and my ride that jus arrive last week oni have OMV of $26K+. Paid $93588 but delivery less than 3 wks (Pearl white + leather seats, 6 disc in dash, reverse sensor, solar film n 3M carmat) but i wrote black n white they have to rebate me 1 to 2 if OMV fall below $27k (SE initially promise $28K above). though got rebate but not happi at all. oni consolation is my ride is here n collecting tis wkend

ur right on Mazda japan issue. now alot of PI dare not sell 8 unless they have ready stock.

Does it come with leather speed reversed sensor? I think the dealer which i am thinking of getting my ride from should be able to match that. Maybe you like to PM me for more details?

How much they selling Type S?

well that's what I thought too but considering that at the previous price of 94880 the OMV was quoted at 32k, i suppose a linear reduction is a good estimate? Vincar just quoted me 89880 with additional 2k if I want 3k warranty but OMV is 27k. I wonder why the OMV can differ from diff companies (had quote of 22k before), would have thought that it would be about the same since it is supposed to be set by customs?

Just sharing an experience so someone else doesn't encounter the same problems...

Bought my RX8 at Cars Motor, and it was a terrible experience. Kept refusing to show me the OMV of my car during negotiations, insisting that it was $30+k (it was actually only about $25k). Promised me a delivery date, but I had to keep chasing over and over again, and the sales person kept saying "oh... we're just waiting for you to sign this/pay this before we can process" but all the while he never contacted me to ask me for anything, until I called him to ask about status. Near the date, they kept telling me, that the car was already registered, the number plate was on already and all they're doing is fixing up the audio system and the leather seats, which is taking a long time. Then I realised on the day of delivery that although the number plate was up, they HAVE NOT registered the vehicle (my girlfriend checked with LTA) and only rushed to do it late afternoon that very day.

Not only that. When they said to collect the car that night at about 8pm (after postponing delivery for about a week), there were no leather seats, no reverse sensor, tuner was still in JP settings, and there wasn't even an IU!! I had to go back the next day during noon to get all that fixed.

So I went back the next day, and they fixed IU, reverse sensor and supposedly the audio, but they will arrange with Jackspeed so that I can go down myself to get the seats done. And because I had to rush back to work, I didn't check and found out later they didn't put in cd changer that he promised. I called him to check that as well as give me the appointment date for jackspeed. That was before CNY. I am still waiting.

I call him, he doesn't pick up. I sms him, he doesn't reply. After some time, I managed to get him and he says he was on leave and now that he's back he will check. That was one week ago. Still nothing. Sent him an sms yesterday saying that if i don't get any news from him by this morning, I will lodge a formal complaint. Now I'll just wait till noon to see what happens.

Don't want any of you guys to experience the same problems. The worst thing is killing the joy of a new car with things like this. Sigh....

Ok... your experience is scary. The guy you are referring to, does he happen to have a small beard? A bit plump? I totally agree with you that such processes will spoil the joy of owning an 8 but since you already committed, just watch out for the servicing at Comfort Delgro, do not let them put synthetic oil at all costs..
