Question: Rotary Oil

I just had my car serviced (@13,000km) and decided to try it with a HKS rotary oil option. It seems to run smoother but its still early to tell since a lot of engines run smoother right after it gets new "blood".

Questions:

1)what sort of oil is this particular "HKS rotary" -- synthetic, semi or mineral. If MM is saying mineral oil only, then what about this rotary oil option?

2) Whats is the viscosity of this oil and what oils can I use to top it when it runs down a bit a couple of thousand kms later?

3) Can I use another brand's rotary oil but with same viscosity? Where? How much?

I should have asked the service guy but I forgot in all my rush the other day. Besides, they don't sell the 1 litre oil bottles... so I will need to buy a small bottle from some where

Thanks guys.

1) I doubt anyone knows. Have to email HKS. Maybe its a repackaged Shell Helix.
2)Not stated on packaged?
3)Use any oil, all oil can be mixed. Different viscosity is also ok; but try to use the same.

Use any other oil if you cannot get the same oil. Why not buy the 5 litre one then?

1. HKS is synthetic. Comes in 4 litres metal bottle. theres the 1litre one too but hard to get. MM says mineral becos they are not supporting aftermakt synthetic rotary oil becos of the high cost. In fact in japan, nobody uses mineral oil on the rotary engines cos it DOES affect the performance.

2. Viscosity not sure. I'm pretty sure its written on the bottle. 10W40??

3. Can. Top up when the level decreases less than half lor. Price depends on wat brand u got. Again, nvr use synthetic oil not meant for rotary. Or use it at ur own risk. Seen a damaged FD torn apart engine with damaged apex seals due to own usage of oil. The damage left by the unburnt deposits are an eyesore.
