RE-AMEMIYA's 2nd visit to S'pore
Dear All,
Staff from RE-Amemiya are coming down to do up a few projects and of course, to do the re-map of rx8 ECUs.
Due to the OVERWHELMING response we have received so far, we may not be able to cater to all members. However, we will try to satify every member of the forum who are interested.
Dates: 30th Nov and 1st Dec tentative
As for how effective and what it can do, i tink the previous thread has more than explained enough. For reference, pls refer to the last thread.
This time round, Mr ISAMI AMEMIYA, himself, is coming down to Singapore on 1st to 2nd December to meet up with all the rotary engine members.
Since 1st is a Friday, i hope to arrrange a meetup with all the rotary fans, rx7 FD n FC included, together with Mr Amemiya. Pls make urself available to meet up with the renowned "rotary god" from Japan. Magazine shoots will be arranged as well.
*For pricing details, pls refer to Monster Garage for more info.

we have 4 major projects going on during their trip here.... the amount re-mapping of ecus may be cut down to facilitate the project.
Mr Amemiya is coming down on the 2nd and 3rd, instead of 1st n 2nd. Hope to have all ur support!

To be frank, response is over whelming and as mentioned in my previous post, there are 4 major projects to be completed before we will even touch the remapping part.
Dun worry, theres still knight sports to come and do the remap. u miss this chance, theres another chance.

the remap is pretty standard for NA setup. Like i always said, theres always so much u can do for NA setup...... of cos if u wan to wait for RE, no problem. But they will only come when there is "big project", if not no point bring them here juz to do remapping.
Initially a lot of pple (u noe who u r) oso doubts RE-Amemiya remap when they came over for the first time. Its only the first few people or heroes who did, and reviewed then it became good.
Frankly speaking, if u r running on NA setup which 95% of the rx8 in spore are, these remaps are similar.
Let me noe ur view.

Was surfing around Racing Beat's website (www.racingbeat.com) and found a section on their version of PCM Flash. I have copied and paste the intial bits of their writeup for a quick readup. There's more in their website.
Quote:-
Flash Features
There are 3 specific areas where Racing Beat modifies the PCM data:
1. We optimize the fuel maps for best power. No changes were made (or needed) below 3500 RPM, and most changes were above 8000 RPM. This is where the stock mixture goes substantially rich, wasting fuel and power. Review Dyno Chart
2. We changed the rev limiter from 9000 RPM to 9300 RPM to take advantage of the increased power available at that RPM once the mixture is changed. Testing has shown that 9300 is an acceptable RPM for the engine. Mazda chose 9000 in part because power was dropping so fast at 9000 there was no point to revving further. Now, that is not true.
3. We lowered the ON temperatures for the electric cooling fans to improve engine cooling and avoid water temperature spikes. #1 fan now turns on at 87 degrees C (stock - 97 C) and #2 fan turns on at 90 degrees C (stock - 101 C).
-Unquote.
any feed backs on that?

From some of the testing I've done with my stock ECU vs a piggybacked ECU 8 and looking at his dyno chart, it seems that most of his power gains over my stock ECU were actually in low rpm range up to 4K rpm. So personally, I find it somewhat strange that Racing Beat claims that no changes are needed below 3500 rpm. Comments?

i also do not agree on the point where they said "Mazda chose 9000 in part because power was dropping so fast at 9000 there was no point to revving further. Now, that is not true"....
its actually true, if u refer to all of the japan tuners dyno-ed charts. At very high rpm, HP began to drop. If only one tuner showed that, yes maybe wrong. ALmost all tuners' dynoed charts showed the same thing... now.. all of them wrong?? cannot be...
as for cooling temperatures... lets not tok abt wat temp the fans kicked in.... REAL experience, my watertemp is nvr more than 90 during day time driving... sometimes spirited.
Most of ur queries are answered in previous thread. As for wat sort of figures, u have to let us noe wat u r looking at.

My apologies for being vague.
I'm not looking for a particular figure or figures. It's just that after reading the RacingBeat article, I was just wondering what figures are RE and KS working on.
I can appreciate that u're getting good temps below 90 for cooling temps. And I do agree it's a good temp.
I queried for figures mainly to gain some knowledge and have some numbers to compare between tuners. And I'm thinking it's a nice-to-know facts if one were to think about investing in reflashing their ECUs
Thanks for the feedback.

Of course on our end, we will try to fulfill everyone's wish to remap. However like i mentioned, there is an overwhelming response. There a few from malaysia. One from brunei is on the way. And the number of singaporeans wanting to this. besides all these, there are the bigger projects.
Let me know ur figures and i will revert according.
