Have you had your speed limiter disabled? Do PM me if you're planning to come...maybe we can meet up! cheers!

hahahha...that's good to hear you're a seasoned singaporean malaysian driver! i would say the best time to drive to KL would be after 12 am. The roads are clear by then, except for some trucks and lorries and buses and unlighted motorcycles and taxis and PLUS-police-lookalike vehicles...

i heard that RSM can be used as a speed cut defensor as well, is it true? if it is then why spend on a FCD, right ? was thinking of fitting a SAFC II to the rex, any ideas of a good tuner?

hey boony...dunno if that's true about the RSM..i'm getting confused with different people saying different things about the Unichip..some say Unichip is good (2 functions - speed cut and tuner) and then i get responses to it saying it's good for the EURO/US mods only to up their Hp back to the Japan mod and it's doesn't really work on JDM model...do you have any solid claims as to the RSM being a valid speed cut enabler?

As to the SAFC II, i read in this thread that it's not that great for the RX8..check it out..

Yes, i heard you can add a changer at the back of the car and hook up using the PIE connector, cause the sales guy told me he did that for one of his RX8 clients. For me, i'm ordering the CD/MP3 unit from the Mazda site from the States...its only US 300.

ARe you in KL, if so PM me, we could meet up with boonyloh as well when he comes down next month...
Hi Voyager, yeah i got a pretty good deal and now taking a friend to NAZA to buy the Maseratti lying around in the showroom. If u or any of your friends need any favors let me know, ok?

Anyway, do you or anyone in this post knows where we'll be able to get the AM/FM booster? I tried ordering the CD Player as you said from the US, it cost USD396 and sadly, they told me "NO SALE - MALAYSIA" in that Rosenthal site. What and where can we get the PIE and which brand? Do you know?

Hi Chinamann,

i wrote to thew@mazdaparts.com and enquired about the CD/mp3 Player, they are willing to sell and send to this part of the world. Maybe you could e-mail him and see how it goes. As for the PIE, i spoke to a fellow RX8 driver and he has installed Clarion 6 disc CD/MP3 Changer with AM/FM modulator and it works fine. maybe you can check it out at car stereo outlets.

cheers!

just got an email from thew from mazdaparts....apparently the US CD/MP3 will not work on our JDM models. we have to look for the A spec JDM line unit for it to work. hey boony, can you check to see if the one u got from australia is the A spec...? if this is the case, then i think we may have to order from mazda australia...

hey boony, thanks for sharing that invaluable info with us! my friend's going to Sydney next week and i am thinking of calling Mazda Australia and buying it and then have them send it to my friend's hotel. Do you by any chance have their contact address? So the unit works? tested?

Haven't tried it though..... :p

I'm not sure about Mazda Australia will send it to your friend's hotel.

just a note you have to buy it at mazda accesories its normally situated where the showroom and deealer is as well. Current Price is running at about AUD520 for the MP3 HU and panel

here's a site for number but no address you might want to give them a call to find out where in sydney have mazda dealers

Word out is that the RX8 is too expensive for a sports car that's not in the ranks of the sports cars in that price category.
I guess RX8 owner in Kuala Lumpur don't drive it everyday... I wonder can this can be use as a day-to-day car?
