Well... from the outside, to bystanders, they will just see another white RX-8 on the road. Perhaps they will wonder if the car got repainted because the white is a different tone of white.
However, to those who know about the 40th anniversary model, they will be able to spot the difference. Personally, I think the additions are not worth the money... (but to each his own). Anyway, the specs can be found in the link below:-

sorry to burst yr bubble but all those extras are really no big deal
and to use these tiny gimmicks to commemorate a limited edition model is pathetic.
and notice that this a JDM model which means a 180km speed cut
and a radio reception that you will spit on!
these little extras are either already available on the type e or type s model,
or available as options which you can request or even available as after market add ons.
for a limited edition model, they should at least come out with a more fuel efficient, powerful engine plus an exclusive body kit and rims,
height or hardness remote adjustable sports coilovers, or at least put in a GPS with a dashboard integrated flip up screen.
notice they never mentioned or do anything to the engine?
honestly the extra money that u throw in for this limited edition model,
might as well use it to sc or tc the engine and re-map the ecu or exhaust works
or more useful mods.

imho: got money to go there shop means he/she is an A.S.K.... pocket deep deep *peace
as for Hippo, he/she is anonymous... come in post then MIA...
make the rotorians discuss... resulting a talking point
btw, i agree with xACiDx that Hippo have not buy but claim after-sales is good... fishy fishy
is Hippo a salesman... the running Jimmy Svperfly?

Went down to GR to pick up some accesories for my 8 yesterday. June showed the 40th anniversary ed. that you're interested in. Had read about it online and was impressed with how they threw in the full works of features like DSC, TPMS etc AND Bilsteins! After checking out the real thing in person...it looks much better interior/exterior wise.
My 2 cents worth: If you're willing to pay a premium for the 40th anniversary ed, go for it. It's not that fantastic in terms of performance options, but its a premium version of the RX8 that comes to you in one single package. The rims of the 40th ed. alone are worth about $2000 apiece! Moreover, the unique (Mazda decided to give it a retro look) creamy white colour will immediately distinguish your car from other white versions of the 8. And psychologically...you can take pride in knowing that yours is one of only a very limited number of models distributed worldwide. If these things are important to you, then you shouldn't have any problem making up your mind...

If its becoz of special colour scheme then I can dare say it is ridiculous.
Since you mention that the peeps at GR told u tat, I am very puzzle, as in, you seems very technical when it comes to ATF issue yet u are easily sold on the rims at 2K a pc without questioning the worthiness of it.
Any idea whom made these rim ? VR ? Enkei ?

It would hav to be of special composite or tough like pure carbon and light as feather in order to be justified for $2000 a pc.

bro dun get cheated to spend your money, 2000 bucks for a rim, not rims.... is seriously . go to the correct place for advise bro. a hint, someone who has being touching rotary for yrs liao. coz most of the shops out there dun know much abt rotary, as its a sensitive engine. so as an advise again, go to the correct place and ask the correct ppl.
anyway, 40th edition or not, its still a rx8 and still must do mods to improve ur ride. cheers

Anyways, I was referring to how much the rims are supposedly 'worth', not whether its costed into the total price of the car as a package. For that, its not for me to say, but any potential buyer will need to perform some market research for the package to see if what one is getting for the 40th anniversary edition is a fair deal or not.
