this thread would be the mods thread for those who have done modifications to their rx8's in malaysia ..
For those who are interested I will call this the Renesis Team
i would start it of with what i have done for mine ..

Velocity Red RX8

Navigator screen changed to dvd player
dvd-rom changed to dvd burner and card reader
4 racing camera with reverse camera
back stabilizer bar
apexi turbo timer
C-west rear spoiler
project-u brakes
mazda speed brake calipers ( not installed yet )
K&N air filter
HKS spark plugs

I would like it for those who have done mods to their cars no matter how minor they are to put it up here ..

For those who are not in the threads yet such as vincent and joseph ( I know what mods you have done ) do you guys want me to put it up or are you guys ever gonna join the threads..

burnog ....for the fun of it ...i'll race u on a 1/4 mile .....just for the fun of it ..to see whether all those modifications are worth it .....cause as i know K&N filter doesn't add horse power ..but i might be wrong ....spark plugs do ..but very minimal..

i removed my mid piping by the way ..and waiting to remove my cat ....cause i know removing the cat ..is gonna add like maybe 5-8 hp hopefully .

K&N filter will not couple well with the removal of the cat. infact, serious idling prob or even engine stalling will occur. Not even K&N, even the best intake of many other brands will give u this problem, simply becos open pod + cat removal = prob for rx8. That is when ur check engine light keeps coming on. Like i said in other threads, K&N happens to be the victim in many USA cases, dats y everybody claims it is no gd, and the bad reputation spreads on. Some local guys fixed it with their whole exhaust still intact and were happy with it. In fact very happy.

Contrary to your belief, K&N does add horsepower but not like 9.5HP as they claim... gain is slight, feel of the car is good. Try putting it on, before assuming it doesnt add horses.

Spark Plugs adding horses.... this is rather fresh though...... but it could be true cos as of now, i do not have any knowledge of spark plugs adding horsepower cos i very new to cars....... :p

removing ur cat could add 5-8 hp, but take note.... may have some complications regarding the check engine light problem. RX8 is not meant to have the cat removed.... unless ur local mechanic noes how to fix the engine light prob...

lol .....k&n filter doesn't add any horses....u can try by doing a dyno on ur car with any without a filter...it's the same .....so it doesn't matter if u have the stock filter or whichever brand ....when i talk i know what i'm talking if not i won't waste ur time posting crap

as for the cat .....local mechanic waiting for ur car voyager.. :P

u mean butt dyno??? c'mon... put it on, try and feel it urself instead on relying on the dyno crap...... dyno are juz numbers... its more on the driveability of ur car..... i dare say a rx8 with the k&n typhoon, all else being stock, is better to drive than a rx8 with stock filter...... and its definitely quicker. FYI, we oredi held our own race between a stock rx8 with another rx8 with k&n typhoon. The one with the k&n edged out......

have u try putting on open pod in ur rx8? i'm not toking abt k&n drop in panel filter.... and like u, when i tok i oso noe wat i'm toking abt.....

At least i have tried with the open pod on and i noe how it feels...... have u? :p

i'm not out to argue with you, if u r mistaken, juz feel dat open pod with still give u the horsepower, juz dat the increase is minimal... maybe 2-3 horses only.... however the main difference is the feel of driving the car.... its instantaneous....

Dyno is useless to test your open pod filter. Horse power is just a figure but doesnt reflect how fast is your car. What open pod filter did is giving better response (not idling stage) and sweeter tone. HP gain on this filter is not so critical, but it's how you felt... btw i 'm been using open pod filter for all the while.

seanlft, correct me if I'm mistaken. Are you comparing an original airbox with and without filter? The K&N Typhoon is an entire intake system which includes the open pod filter, intake pipe, heat shield and WITHOUT the original airbox. If you have ever heard the K&N Typhoon on an RX-8, you would NEVER say it "sounds a little louder thats all". It's way louder than most street legal exhausts!

yo guyz...i got question.....the navi system is not working in malaysia right? or do u think it fit in US? and any one of u plan to sell it?
anyway ..what is the best cat back that selling there and how much? weight? adding HP? i changed few cat back....bcoz of really saytisfy with its function....i plan to mod my 8, looking for ppl to help me check out the price in malaysia.
