RX8 is not Sikh friendly?

Hi, thinking of getting the 8, but noticed that there is very little clearance from the head to the ceilingboard, and am afraid that it'll be a problem as i wear a turban. Want to check if there are any sikh bros in Singapore and Malaysia driving the 8 and if got problem?

TK in advance.

Have you sit into a RX8 before?? If you haven't, go to Naza or other dealers and try it out... That'll be better......

It depends on how tall you are, I'm 6' and when I wear a cap (not the same, obviously), it doesn't hit the roof, though it will hit the A pillar when coming out of the car.

BigOLundh from the US forum is a Sikh if I'm not mistaken. You can PM him and find out.

BigO, if you are reading this, and you are not a Sikh, sorry mate!

Agreed with Jaii, i'm about 1.8m tall, and already quite a hassle coming out of the car. If you dun mind that, i think it should be ok lah. Harv, how tall are you?

Satsriakal,

i reckon you'd get away with it but it really depends on how you fashion your "paag". do what lennon said and jump in one, see how it fits. good luck.

The thread sounds as if the 8 is racist!

The roof is lower than most other cars. Sometimes i get my waxed hair messed up getting in and out. If you are taller than 1.8(I'm 1.8), you will have to be careful not to hit your head.

I'm 1.7 meter and try wearing a helmet. NO way I could sit with my bottoms all the way into the rear of the seat. I had to seat slightly forward, with some spacing between the back rest of the seat and my bottom so my head is slightly lower with out hitting the roof.

Your Turban will definitely hit the roof, the only way is to change to one of those low level racing seats. around S$1000 per seat for the better ones.

Personally, ive seen some of my 'Sikh' frens style their hair.... They shared with me once that they have a few variations which they term as the following:

1. Char Siew Pao (most common)
2. Shark Fin (Try imagining)
3. Fan Style (Like peacock)
4. Abalone (centre pop-up)

They seem to take pride with their styling... i really admire their pride for their precious hair and at the same time, pity that they cant cut them (correct me if im wrong) and the tedious effort in maintaining... can even touch the floor with 30-40cm sweeping the floor.

Just curious, instead of styling upwards... adding to the height, can you guys style it sideways... like into a helmet style???? Just a thought..

Thanks for all your hlp guys. Went down to naza in town yesterday, couldn't comfortably get in even if I put the seat to lowest. Although I'm sure no one means any harm, some stuff in this thread is making me a little uncomfortable, so let's close this off.

Thanks again guys!

I can see where the insensitivity came from.

Harveen: Do not feel bad, as there are only 1 or 2 of these immature and insensitive people around and they are not representive of the rx8 club on a whole. Mosts of us here are sensible mature adults. Moreover social cohesion and etiquette are taught in school.

How tall are you anyway? It does takes a little effort for me to get in and out of the car; i bend my body alittle when i enter or exit the vehicle. And my seat is also at its lowest.
