Girl or guy. What difference does it make? Gender shouldn't matter since this is a car forum. It may however thread the fine line of sensitivity when this is a matchmaking or sex forum or sex chat whatever.

When avatar is girl pic; everyone posts alot.

If i put my picture up and ask a question, i think it will takes weeks for a answer. If i change to a pretty girls pic; straight away get answer and 40 Private Messages.

Maybe some people worried they will be let down when they are fantasing and replying to the girl and later find out the girl is not a girl at all. (En En: I do not doubt your gender or orientation whatsoever )

Just my 2 cents on the off topic. Gender does matter to a certain extend, in the manner of speech, such as crude lingos.

Dunno why an RX-8 Recall thread became a gender dispute. *scratch head* Guys, let's drop all the talk on gender stuff and focus on the thread topic. en en, pardon the guys. Because the RX-8 Club members in SG are quite a friendly bunch and most of us take it as a social club as well, so naturally the forum "chit chat" extends beyond the boundaries of strictly a "forum only and no real life" kind of interaction. Understandably, there are crocodiles in every male dominated setting that may be of some concern, but most of the guys here are older and attached, married and some even with kids. You'll be able to spot the single male crocodiles a mile away. *ha ha*

Ok, back to the topic. I don't think Mazda will recall any and all RX-8s in SG. Only those who might have this problem and only on a voluntary basis. Not everyone is entitled to an engine change. Anyone has an 8 exhibiting this problem? Even so, you are not getting a NEW engine, probably just a rebuilt one and don't forget the downtime and hassle. I've always stuck to trusty ol' Shell mineral. Maybe not the best oil in terms of performance, but no problems to date. *fingers crossed*

thanks man

for the time being, just enjoy the car....to me, if any concerns, its only a matter of reliability. that means for cars after 2 to 3 years.
i am in the product design field too. normally this kind of issues is only seen after long usage or accelerated worst case testings.
probably most cars, under normal usage, should still be okay.

then again, hopefully i am right about this issue.

jacky's ruhua not enough impact. So maybe we see a return of Ah nan 6 months later.

The recall is not confirmed yet so far. But if a engine replacement is involved; it will be major news.
