Exclamation Rx8 vs civic R

Hi all,

Looking at the spec of new (kah motor)civic R the pick up is the same, in fact 0.01sec faster than 8.
However looking at the spec in terms of Bhp and torque, 8 is like 30bhp more and 18nm more torque at earlier rpm. weight also about the same. Which means the JDM 220bhp might be faster than 8????

Anyone here has got any reading for 6mt, other than wat mazda motor has stated down at 7.1sec 0-100km/h.

Thanks for any precious info.

cheers

I don't understand why people choose a car based on 0-100km....... Not deciding based on handling......

SY02, u choosin car based on wrong criteria. You should choose the cibic if u are an ah beng and the rx8 only if you gt a mohawk hairstyle(lao beng). wahahahaha

u guys are so cruel! poking fun at our own members here!

nothin wrong being a lao beng wat. lao bengs get to go dragonfly

and sit in vip area, uncles like me have to queue up and sit near toilet leh.

u noe mohawk hairstyle not easy to style. it is a work of art and takes effort to
style.

Imagine what would happen to the GOOD LOOK hair gel co.
if lao beng gives up mohawk image and become lao ti koh?

I think nothing wrong with comparing. We all buy the car for different reasons but we have a right to know hows is its performance compared to other makes..I love to compare and yes im not happy with my 8 but thats my problem.

Not sure about the kah motor type r but the jdm one brought in by the PIs should be faster than our 8 considering it has the same engine as the integra type r K20a. The integra rips a stock 8 apart clearly because it is much lighter.

The best timing achieved here is 6.7s ironically by Stephy88 a keen hater of comparisons. Lousier drivers like me will probably struggle to touch 8s. Weight also plays a part, im quite fat.

So u got 3 choices if you are concerened abt 0-100

live with the car, turbo/supercharge or sell it

Im quite different from most rx8 owners who gets defensive once u start talking about 0-100. Get another car they will say and whatever. Im very accepting of the low performance figures..just myself to blame cause the looks of the car seduced me so badly i ignored all the shortcomings.

But all is not lost, this car attracts so much stares especially from other people's girlfriends. Its attract chicks. Period

Oh yes, before i get flamed by fact obsessed members demading scientific data, i must say this is my opinion and i do not claim to be 100% factual. Cheers bro

Thks for the info, anyway to me everycar has it's beauty, some of the beauty of some cars are damage by the way the driver carry it or themselves, that's to me how some cars was classified as ah beng car.

cheers

Power to weight ratio is not a good indication of how good a car will perform. Type of transmission, FR or RR or AWD, tyres, etc. all play a part.

There are faster NA 8s around. Anyway what good is speed if you have to brake so hard into a corner? The 8 is a good car, don't sell yourself short.

Both the JDM and the Kah motor Typr R have good reviews...but 1 thing for sure...the JDM Type r is very responsive...and gives good power...

Dont be modest lah bro lol. Heard you hit a 6.1 / 6.2 when your car was bone stock but just freshly run in right?

I would assume that the 8 would handle better than the Bengmobil Type R but that remains to be seen. Know anyone buying a bengmobil anytime soon? :D

between the jdm and agent cars, i would pick the jdm....

more power
cheaper price
4 doors
brembo front brakes
availability of mugen parts

That depends.

Some PI's authorised workshops are tied in with garages like Comfort Delgro. Would you want them to even come close to your car?

There are those PIs that have their own workshops...

E.g.: G***** R, MB M****, H** Y*** etc...etc...
