Tinted windows in Malaysia?

Hi all,

Going to take delivery of my new baby tomorrow :D :D :D

Lookign at this forum, it seems there is a lot more RX-8 owners/modders in Malaysia and Singapore than over here, and one thing I'd like to do someday is take a road trip down the peninsula.

But, if I recall correctly, malaysia (and probably singapore too) has restrictions on the tinting of windows, i.e. there's a maximum legal opacity? Mine will be 80% sides and back, and 60% front, would that be a problem? Or does it not apply to cars from a different country?

Any help you can provide would be mucho appreciated, it would suck to drive to the border and have the border guard telling me to turn around :p

Dude, i think there are more monster modded car in Thai than Mal..... Just that not every owner like to surf the net....Thai does well in Sepang drag race.... So i'm not suprise if there's monster RX8 in thai..

About the tinting, i'm not sure the border police will stop you....

Oh for 4 and 6 cylinders, there's definitely some scary stuff over here. But rotaries... I've been in Bangkok almost three years now, I don't go out all that much, but on the roads I've only seen maybe three RX-8s and one or two RX-7's (Heck I see Ferraris more often than RX's...), and I don't think any of them were modified, at least not externally visible in any way. Still, one of the first places to stop would be HKS, they should know a thing or two,or point me in the right direction.

As for the window film, will go for much lighter up front, but the car originally comes with quite dark rear windows.
