Go to Monster Garage. They should be able to help you out with most stuff about RX8.
Look for Ivan. Our PR manager here (coupe07). Say kenny recommended you to go there. The people at monster will take care of you...haha..like real!
Likewise, if you don't like to use my name, you can use joe, alvin, lincoln, zavier, derrick, peter, gavin and many many many others, because errrr....we all go to him. in fact..almost everyone here goes to him.

Hmmm.. Theres pro and cons letting those japanese PRO to tune,
Benefits no need to say le, its obvious that they are dealing with rotary for so many years,
Know it in and out!
Cons are, u have to wait for them to come down, lets say they tune it this time for you, u wanna mod after they are in japan, have to wait for MG to invite them back, Definetly u have to test ya car for few days after the tuning then ask dem to fine tune to get wat u wan..(tune to ya style of driving and get the best out of it)
thats the only downside of it...Ask yourselve b4 committing? Can the tuner come down so oftenly? even if they come down every 3 months is it not enuff to cater so many rx8 drivers, how much time spend can they commit into yhour ride?
Bt letting a expert tuner to tune is like sitting beside tsuchiya while he drift..PRICELESS
Weigh it yourselve!!!
Just my personally views.. Cheers!!!

Seriously speaking, how often do u need to tune ur car? Most of the mods r
bolt ons...unless ur talking abt the ecu or force induction in ur car n etc...I dun
really think u need any expert to fine tune? Even for suspension, the tuning is
usually done by urslf...u decide ur own settings to c wat works for u n the
alignment of the car...negative camber, toe in toe out n etc is usually up to
ur preference...Besides, the ecu of the rx8 is known to be a tough nut to crack...
dun think there r any specialist in the region who can tune ur car without any
minor screw ups...
Now, wat u really have to ask urslf is...do u want a garage that specialises in
wrxs or evos to take care of ur car or do u really want who noes mazdas at the
back of their hand to care for ur baby? For me, the decision was clear...I dun
wanna be a guinea pig for anyone at all, period...

Hi
1. Most mods dont need expert to tune. Strut bars, brace bars, suspension, brake kits, body kits, lighter rims, short shifter, defi meters etc etc. Go to a garage that give u good service and reasonable price (pse garage got to make money to survive) and able to get the stuffs relatively fast.
2. Tuning and engine mod, FI is a diff story. Yes u need expert to do it better than trial and error by so call 'tuning house'. After expert tune, unlike u tune again very soon so my preference is to let expert do it. How many really lup and change so much of engine part that need expert to tune??
3. So no worry, buy the car and mod!!! if u willing to spend the $$$. Think it will be some time be4 u really need an expert to tune.
Cheers

Hi
1. Can u check how many RX8 had ST tuned??
2. I know they have lots of EVOs and STis but not sure abt RX8. If it means 'whacked' the whole thing down and mess with the computer, I am sure most Garage can do it but which part is critical and which is not may not be too simple.
3. There are a few 'blown' EVOs at Sepang. All nicely tuned and fantastic sound, ard 450 to 500 bhp but when the time for them to start racing, their turbo 'kaput'. Quite a bit of diff between dynoed and real life. I am not sure which Garage did the car though.
4. Not to pour cold water but better to find out a bit more be4 commit.
Cheers

The rotary engine tuning is very different and complex when it comes to FI kit. Seriously, the most value for money turbo kit for the rx8 is the greddy turbo kit, which is by far the one n only bolt on turbo kit for the rx8 now. Of cos, u will need an expert to tune the car, or else it will end up like the 2 cars done by the local garage.
Sometimes u tink u may have done a lot of savings by letting a novice do the job, but in the longer run, if ur engine goes, ur money will oso go.

Morgan, just wait & go for R.P. Axial SC/tuned ECU or K.S. or RotorMaster/DNA Motorsport(Australia) SC, forget TC, if someone is going to up e boost on TC & wap e car on sepang like other had did before, e end result should be around same, some other just tired of e Greddy OEM tuning on e crazy ECU. other with SC seen good with harsh drifting with min. wind blowing to help cool down e car, not like u travelling at high speed on track

the 2 RE-Amemiya turbo kit on spore roads are doin well so far. The one that is on sale is becos he is changing his car.
The greddy kit is good, provided the tuning is done by the professionals. The 2 greddy kits bolted in spore are tuned by local tuner, which explains y many pple tot the greddy kit is no good. Optimum boost for this kit on the rx8 is 0.4 bar. It's pretty safe on sepang too, even under hard whacking. Again, i have to emphasise the effect of precise tuning on the greddy turbo kit.
Layman terms = If tuning good, turbo car good. Tuning no good, turbo car no good.

$ = Power
$$ = Power, Power
$$$$$$$$$$ = Power, Power, Power, Power, Power, Power, Power, Power, Power, Power.
Well, Power is expensive.... No such thing as cheap Power....

why would you want to tune your car when you have just gotten your licence? a bit like spoiling the broth before you've even cooked it. Assuming you didnt know how to drive before this...unless you've returned from studies with a foreign driving licence and have converted.
