Where to park in Genting?

Someone asked this question before.

I have driven up a couple of times but in my previous car.

Considering the eyecatching nature of our rides; where and how can we safely park there?

I do not mind paying for the security. Only place i think it is safe is at the special members carpark where only genting silver/gold members can park. Too bad i am only a small time gambler...

Then better take a bus. You don't have to worry so much.

I agree bus is definately worry free. I go up almost monthly with a buddy while during my poly days. We would ask each other in class whether should we go and we will leave that very night. Easy also because last time still have west m'sia passport.

But its also fun to drive all the way to genting. My dad has a place there but i prefer to stay at the top.

I ve been there a couple of times in my car. I think is quite safe parking in front of genting hotel. There r valets there but u can request to park it yrself. If I m not wrong the charges is between 7 to 10 ringgit.
The only disadvantage is open air. But at least u don ve to get yr chassis scratched through the basement carpark and most important it is safe.

The charges are daily or per parking regardless of duration.

Are the lots there big enough to park safely. I rememeber the lots outside themepark hotel are quite narrow.

And do they have 24hr security to look after cars parked there?

The charges are for per entry. Don worry, the lots are big enough. They ve also barriers surrounging the carpark and security guards always there too.

the most danger place is car valet!! they can duplicate your car key very fast...

At least you know who stole your car and easier to make a claim.

Emperor: I wouldn't loose too much sleep over this. The RX8 is just not worth stealing. Its not popular enuf in Malaysia. People only steal cars that can have a fast turnover/turaround ie quick sale -- Protons, Sunnys, RAV4s, RX300 etc. This is the case in most countries whether in teh States, UK or in Asia.
I think there are only some 60plus RX8s in Malaysia. Not exactly popular and besides, so uncommon, also easy to catch the thief.

You are pretty right to say this........ RX8 is not a common car to be targeted...... The only worries are when gadgets are laid all over the console, thiefs tend to break the windows and steal it...... Good news for stockies........

there's this gizmo they sell at the science center gift shop that you can hook to any metal object, if a person touches it, he'll get a rude static electricity shock - quite painful actually. much safer than running a current and pacemaker friendly.

Frankly i am more worried about my car being vandalised than stolen. Its true that our 8 is too flashy to be stolen without being noticed especially with bodykit.

I actually thought of a concept to build a anti-hijack/theft voltage deterrent (And i intend to use >70amps; kill the damm buggers)

Those so called shockers sold in shops are not true shockers. They only vibrate so fast that your nerves hurts. If it was a real one, not only your hand will hurt.

Make sure you kill them with that. It'd be a real bitch if all the shockers do is **** 'em off and you'd probably get a nice rock on your seat (via the window).

No amount of shocking will harm a can of spray paint or bottle of paint remover... Only way is get someone to watch over your car or get a security cam (in the hopes of catching the culprit). If you install a shocking device, what if some innocent person accidentally brush up against your car when they are opening their door of their car parked just beside you? I think you'll get sued for causing grave injury + trauma, etc. If you guys are just talking ****, then pls continue... but if you are serious, then better spend your time thinking of something more constructive.

Innocent? I call it collateral damage. I will install a motion sensor with this loudspeaker warning:

"Unauthorised personnel. Step away from the vehicle"
"I repeat. Step away now or risk danger"
"Last warning. Your life will be in danger"

3 warnings and a bright red sign should do it.

Anyway just talking ****. But i do have the concept design for a shock alarm.

ok, ok. so to summarise. Its safer to park outside genting hotel using the valet service but can request to park myself. And our cars are too flashy to steal and dispose of.

Morning Guys...

A suggestion or rather an alternative to Genting (if its mainly for punting)...

Go Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal , pay $48 for boarding pass + 1 whole day buffet... Try out the gambling ship...

IMO, after testing Crown, Genting and LV, this ship is easier to win.. Food there is not bad too...

I went there by bus so many times that all the fingers of our club members also not enough to count.

I want to make this a road trip and i used to drive up quite often. Its just that this flashy car is getting me worried.

IMO. crown casino beats any cruise ship and even Las Vegas. Why? Free food, free drinks, free parking, free points, free gifts, free money, no smoke, no need to tip and AU$ cheaper than US$

Sqflyer: Can sell me first class tickets at economy prices.
