Quite interesting for you all to discuss on the suspension issue... yeah I just check from ST the TEIN type flex will coz you around $2280. Was told that the super street is actually a lower quality TEIN products and only cost ~$1800 but made in Taiwan or else the FLEX is made in Japan. The EDFC is around $680.
Check the CUSCO zero 2 also but was actually hoping for the zero 2 R but it is not available for our RX8. (only zero2) In fact I do not know how well the cusco handles but the ride comfort for the zero 2 R is actually very comfortable on the softest setting.
Myself is in the middle of settling for a aftermarket coilover something of cusco zero 2 r range and could anyone out there give me some pointers wat brand and model I should be looking at? Use the car track too therefore would appreciate a firmer suspension but not to the point you cannot live with it everyday.
Also hopefully the suspension can be easily available in singapore so that the servicing can be done without hassle. All suggestions are appreciated.

Cusco have already came out with RX8 suspension (i think its Zero 2, not sure) Check Option Magazine.
As for D2 ....i find its too hard. The comfort got to go, if you want stablilty.

Yeah just check with G-R .... going for 3K not inclusive GST yet. But I think should be able to get slightly cheaper. Been reading quite a good review on the Hypermaz 2 and yeah just wondering is it true the spring rate will be 8/5 ? Can I opt for something stiffer eg 10/7 or something ?

Any idea whats the diff between the HKS Hypermax 2 and the Hypermax Performer? (ie. are the the same tech or which one is actually a newer product )Same price though and all I know is Performer has a slightly harder spring rate @ 8/6 or else Hypermax 2 @ 8/5.

Neon... you can change the spring from Tein. Look at your Flex manual ... there are choices of spring with model number attached. The front can go from 5-9 (standard being 7) and rear with 4 and 5 (standard being 4). So if you want it hard (sound horny )... you can change the spring. There is a link of the manual in Tein's japanese website if you have lost your manual.
Coupe ... suspension has everything to do with 50:50 balance. Although it is only one factor out of ten (which includes engine; other weight etc.)... it is always worthwhile to put the car under a 4 point scale to adjust the height of the coilover to make it 50:50... but more importantly to make sure left and right is balanced. I phone a place up and they are making sure I am wearing my racing suit, and bring my helmet with me on the day.
In terms of your choice coupe.. I am surprised you have not included the Fujita Engineering HKS made FM801 --- they are the best and made for the 8 I reckon.
I went for the Tein flex because the track in Australia is more like Goat track. There are too mcuh undulation. FEED and HKS will be slightly on the firm side.
My choices comes down to price really - I brought my Tein for half the price of the others. Otherwise FEED and Bilstein will be great... I am saving for my AP Racing caliper. Plus the EDFC is great... I am too fat to get out of the car and adjust the damper every session.
After all that the thing behind the wheel is the most important. I beat the man with semi slick and Bilstein in last year's national meet at Wakefield s

I wonder if you have strut bar and sway bar installed - it may worth doing that before thinking of changing - well you need that when you go for harder sus.
I highly recommend waiting for Tein's super racing. It will be 16kg hard
There is damper and rebound setting in TWO EDFC's. It is truely for track only mate. So if you want REALLY REALLY hardcore - Tein Super Racing is for you. Ohii san 大井貴之 loves it and demo it in a RX-7 I remember correctly... I will rip the clip for you tonight.

Thanks taka....will do more research.....May make do with 9 front just to have a betta feel first since doesn't cost a bomb...
Coupe7, i didnt know u were telling me that i can't change my settings. Duh, i know that. What I meant was adjusting the dampers to full hard and not the spring rate! I must be Superman to be able to do that....
Cheers

Hey I spoke to the HK distributor when I collect my Tein.
Tein superracing is a very gun shock and work very well in the CT9A.
It works on the street still and it is bad when you have a bad back
For your Tein Flex Neon,
They said many uses Swift shocks which can be tighter and works well with the Tein Flex. It is lighter and itself will have good handling property.
They race Tein Flex with Swift springs in Macau

Forget Tiens....if probs then big issues to resolve right....go for HKS (Hipermax II's)...I friggin' love my hipermax II's over the stocks, totally diff car, rides on rails, responds to bumps and corners likes nothing else, I can max gears without fatigue, the stock shocks have bad fatigue.

do you know which one is the newer edition ... I mean hyper 2 or hyper performer ? Or which one is better ?

My feeling is that Performer is replacing II but both model co-exists atm....
Genesis, yes it is good to have HKS. It is single tube and a little more expensive than the Teins.
If you go for the HKS single tube - I rather you buy the FEED FM801 who uses HKS components... tonnes better than H-II and they are similar in price.
In either sense I cannot reservice HKS properly...... in Australia. So I have to forget it.
It is very sad.
I wish Tein SuperRacing is coming out sooner.
