Feel sorry for you , man. My PI promises me a 2nd smart key and seven months have passed, nothing from him.

I already called the company up and made my intentions clear. "I WILL NOT PAY". Also if they decided to bring this case up legally. I got all cheque records and payment and also the salesman's sms regarding the misuse of my deposits. They said they will be taking actions against me.

I will make it clear... That if they wanna bring this matter up i will make sure for this 2.8k the company's reputation will go down the drain. Not only for no action taken against the salesman but also for the sloppy follow up(not caring about their salesman whom actually mishandled my money). I have also talked to a lawyer friend of mine and he said there is no reason why in the first place when the funds have been discovered missing that they did not make a police report. I am definitely not liable for that 2.8k even if i did sign for guarantor.

 

Its always better to be pro-active rather than being reactive bro.

Since they have made it clear they want to take legal steps for it? Then dont waste anymore time - make a police report now and start taking legal action before they do.

Agree with gfoo and Swerve76, must strike first. For all you know they using scare tactics to make you cave in when their own case is weak. Most committed wins! 1 letter to forum stating facts (but not opinions) is good enough to hurt them for generations process wise even in the worst case the end state may not be so. You have nothing to lose.

 

No use going to the police, they won't take action.
Why not go to the press instead? Nowadays it seems they have not much stories to do and they are willing to dig up these things. Remember the guy who conned forummers into depositing money in buying car parts and disappear? Even though they made police reports, it was only after it came out in the newspapers that the police did something about it.
Let the whole Singapore know the story. See if they give you back the 2.8k to clear their reputation.

But atleast u've got ur 8. I've been waiting for my 8 for 4mths, which my PI promised to deliver in this month, but now they drag the delivery date to End of July. That would be 6mths waiting time. And yet tell me no confirmed schedule that I will receive my car in End July.

I kept asking them what if they can't deliver on End July, and I want my deposit back, but they keep avoiding the question. Decided to give them last chance, I'll wait till end July. If no car delivered, I will go to CASE on 1st August.

Really bad experience buying from PI...have stop my friends from getting from my PI, don't want them stuck in my situation.

 

6 months for a car? that's ridiculous...how about your COE? bidded? You should share the PI with the rest here so that they won't fall into your situation as well.

 

Simple tactic, delay and delay, sell you when COE high then wait for COE and OMV to fall until no tomorrow. Finally give u the car when it is worth 60% of what you paid for. Like Sim Lim lidat, put low price on their price list when you go buy they say no stock.

 

already got my COE in Feb, the $5.2k one. And sadly, no rebate for such a low COE.

So, the worst case is they might drag till my COE expired and lose their 10k deposit with LTA. But the 10k is actually my deposit. That's why they keep avoiding my question of when I can get back my deposit.

 

Update:

So far I've waited exactly 2 mths for mine, but initial estimate was ard 3 mths anyway.. same as MM. I checked yesterday with my PI, GR, and have been given my chassis number and estimated ship date (end of nxt week). June (the lady, not the month) will be able to give me a more accurate estimate once the car is on the ship. Looks like we might be able to make the 3 mths driveaway estimate. As far as I know, COE not bought yet, but the cap for my purchase is less than the current $16K level..

More updates will be made as things progress.

 

so your car's shipment not affected by the MM complaint?

My PI told me that all JDM RX8 were affected because of MM successfully stopped the exporters from Japan from exporting.

That's why I got to wait for 6 months!!!
