i think there are a lot of ppl who pre-ordered already. some even from this board, actually. i wonder if they will get stuck w/ that $100K price tag or do they get MSRP from ordering early. i wouldn't be surprised if the dealers took their deposits and then came back with a "um, sorry guys but we can't sell u the car for that price. here's the new price and/ or your deposit back if u want to opt out."
maybe someone who pre-ordered can sound in? mike? (nudge)

one of two things. Stupidity, or so much money 30k extra is like the $60 I have in my wallet.
If I had the authority, I'd make it ILLEGAL to mark up any car over sticker price. It's pure greed, and preying on gullable people. Bastards!!!

It's probably just for show. I doubt they expect someone to pay 100k. It is in CA so you never know. Hell Jessica Simpson paid $800 for 3 pairs of underwear.

Price negotiations SHOULD have been done before a pre-order is completed. IF not, deposits are 100% refundable.
It's simply a tactic to let the market set it's own price. I doubt more then a cou[ple, if any get sold at these prices. Most will be sold near sticker. Supply and demand.
Someone said they think it should be illegal to sell for over sticker, that's silly, if you don't like it, don't pay it. There is a pricde for exclisivity, it's as simple as that. Don't be an early adopter, noone is forcing you to.

hell if you are a good enough negotiator you can get a car specially ordered at below MSRP (the trick is to play the dealers off eachother and not expect any more than $500 below MSRP lol)

Supply and demand. Someone who wants one today and doesn't want to order one or search around will pay it, especially in the N. Hollywood/Universal City area.
Meanwhile, the M3 is fairly easy to obtain as long as you don't mind a four month or so wait.
The good news is that since you'll be ordering, you get to specify your car exactly as you want it rather than have to settle for what's on the lot.
