While I think this car looks "leaner," why in tarnation do the Corvette stylists have to take a hodgepodge of styling cues from other cars (Ferrari, Viper, etc) to make their own?
However, I do have this sneaking suspicion that the car will look much better in person. We'll see.

I'm a fan, though it is rather difficult to say on what degree I like it, I do see that it is better. Take for example the 400 HP standard. That's only 5 less than the C5. Also in near future there will be a notchback version, a convertible, and in either '06 or '07 the Z06 will be back.
Granted not all people may not like the new styling of the C6 for various reasons, but in automotive design each car (for the most part) takes cues from another car on the market or one from the past.
The new Mustang on the other hand... I'm thinking POS. But I'll keep that on the down low for now... until I hear reviews and other whatnot on the actual production car.

Funny thing about Callaway though...you are correct 'cue' there does seem to be some influence but it's kinda funny...i have met with Reeves before at a couple shows, and the majority of their engineers are from , shhhhh!!, ,...Germany....! so, not that i am anti-american car guy or anything, but that's the problem with all of them...they have some serious power but no handling...what the hell is the fun of having 400+ RWHP and being able to only use it in a straight line....maybe if Callaway did participate in the design of the C06 MAYBE it will handle and ride like a German sports car....

i agree with the rediculousness of the copycatting going on. the C5, in my eyes, actually looked like a corvette, and had some very unique points to it (the front grill and rear end being two that come to mind instantly... the silhouette classic Corvette).
this C6, to me, looks SO unbelievably Japanese (look at the grill design, the point in the nose... and don't try to tell me "'56 Chev" :p... i'm thinking new NSX) all over that it's frightening. the headlights, that's a thing from sportscar racing, and well, honestly... i'm not a fan of the body coloured projectors. the engine outlets and sculpting down the sides is a BLATANT Viper rip-off... i have no ******' CLUE why they did that. completely stupid.
it still has that very C5 fat fat fat ***, but it's been improved aerodynamically (which i won't complain about). the sculpting from the top aspect i think is very attractive, and unique, and especially with the top on, really unites the design of the car's exterior (as long as you can't see the front end).

That steering wheel has to be the biggest pile of crap I've seen in years!!!
First, the thing looks like a plastic POS that should be in a Cavalier.
Second, what are the top spokes doing at 8 and 4???? Again, that's something done in a Cavalier, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, or some other *non-driver's* car.
WTF GM?
Rant off

Hey, if you fellows don't want any, I'll take 'em :D
No seriously, wheelbase extended over an inch, total length down 5 inches, weight very similar, 50 extra horsepower, 500 more RPMs to redline, supposedly at least as good gas mileage... what's not to like? It should be faster and handle better than the current generation, while keeping most of the styling cues.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, of course - that's why we have websites like this, to share our opinions - but to me, as long as the interior does not fall apart and the seats are comfortable, I don't care what it looks like.

I like everything about the car except two things!
It's not a rotary powered vehicle....
...and second... that front end just looks weird to me. The headlights and that small "boxy" slit of an opening for the rad remind me of Kermit the Frog. Especially in green, the car WILL look like Kermit. Maybe some eyelids on the headlights will help improve the appearance. Side view.... great. Rear shot... excellent. Just the front end that's a step backwards IMO. Meld this body with more of a Panoz Z shaped front end and you'd have a nice final combo. I DO think that a little more fender definition or "height" if you will like the Callaway vette would make it a more attractive and complete package. Again, JMO!
