^ I can't stand companies that make their concepts so completely different from the production. It makes me just flat out not even consider that company next time they release a concept.

Funny...the tires on the rear of the car are mounted with the tread going the wrong direction.

Sort of looks like the last generation Mercury Cougar updated and tweaked.

They realized no one would buy a car that looks like a buck-toothed "jap" from a WWII propaganda poster.

Not a bad refresh. I'd never buy one mind you... but I'd take one as a rental.

Now when they come out with the RWD car and hopefully some decent performance... I dunno if I'd buy, but I'd at least look.

My wife had an '03 Tiburon. It was a nice, troublefree car, but it had blindspots all over the place and the suspension was so tight that it skittered across the pavement after hitting the slightest bump.

There is an active aftermarket for this car, including a beefy supercharger.

I swore I would never buy a Korean car after getting an old Kia Sportage as a rental (drove it from the Bay Area to Los Angeles... about 400 miles). They had "upgraded" me from a Mazda 626 to a Kia Sportage. The first thing I noticed was the gearing was frickin horrible. When there were slight inclines the gear it was normally in gave me no power so I had to mash the gas more... where it would then flip into high RPMs.

And then my friend rolled her window down for some fresh air. When she rolled it back up, the window seal didn't seal so we had to go like 150 miles with an absurd amount of wind noise. There was nothing good to say about the car except it didn't break down on the trip.

Of course from what I hear the Korean cars have gotten A LOT better. But I'm going to have misgivings for a while about them. Like I have about Cadillacs (my dad had one in the 80s and it broke down insanely often).

hyundai quality is near the top of the spectrum according to the newest survey by washingtonpost while Kia and Daewood have traditionally been and still are low quality brands near the bottom of the barrel. not all korean cars are created equal.

I don't mind the new look. But it still is just a rebadged econo car made to look like a sports car.

That's the concept for the RWD Tiburon successor, probably due out around 2008/2009. This is just the model refresh, i.e. like the 350z got this year.

the concept is supposed to be the next gen tiburon they are leaning toward rwd but could still go with FWD again. the 2007 is just the refresh, the redesign comes in late 08 as a 09 model year i think...

that was an absolutly tragic face lift.

I have an 03 which looks light years better than this 07 and the 05/06's look much better than mine.

Either way its a slush box and i wont ever buy a hyundai again.

I see they finally got rid of the fender strakes like the RX-8.

the front end is a copy of the Aston Martin BD-9 / Ferrari and the back end added tail lights like the old Eclispe/ RX-8 and SC-2000.

I think this may be the best looking one yet!

I hear with Mods you can get it to 300 HP no problem.

the tiburon came out in 02 buddy so i think the 8 has fender strakes like the tiburon.

and yes both motors (2.0 i4 and 2.7 v6) can put out 3-400whp daily for aroudn 6-7 grand.

Just an FYI. The Tiburon's first year was 1997, with one off year. There was no 2002 model.
