While the boost in power is only mild, you do get a limited slip diff, wider track, fatter tires, eclusive interior, and obviously, the body looks a bit different. I think I would have preferred bmw using the 3.2 I-6 (S54) from the previous generation M3. The lack of an M-specific engine is rather a foolish decision in my mind, even though it helped keep the price down.

You guys are awfully harsh. If Mazda had produced an real MS RX-8 with 35 more HP while losing 70lbs, widened the track, and wheels and tires, tightened up the shocks, improved the brakes, etc, you've be singing praises to heaven ...
