Bigger wheels slow down cars. You get better acceleration with smaller wheels.

Thanks for the link Irish...can't say I'm a fan of the revised front or rear. An acquired taste, I s'pose. Like the new alloys though....the stripper version available here only has 17's on it. The 350Z "Track" comes with 18's....but I can't recall seeing those ones. They look ace...

Those spinners aren't even the authentic Davins--those are cheapass knockoffs--the owner needs to take that garbage off and put them on an Escalade. Spinners are getting played out anyway--I think they need to stay on SUVs (if you like em). There is a clown driving around here with those same knockoffs-painted red to match his red 3000GT -- 100% garbage.

For me spinners are just awful and 20 inch rims only take away from performance and create massive tire replacement bills. But for others, they are the height of appearance and a status symbol. Different strokes I guess. I just don't know why anyone who was worried about how their car performs would add either of these things. Of course some people seem to believe that vinyl stickers make their car faster, so whatever.

real spinners are flush with the lip of the rim. Fake spinners protrude--if you are directly behind the car you should not be able to see the spinner protruding. The fakes use adaptors--I've seen some horrible setups in which the fake spinner protrudes about 2.5in from the rim. And then--that design is the generic 'spinner' that all the fakes are. A fake spinner attachment sells for like $100 a piece.
I see you ridin' spinners but they not Davin -- Bun B. of UGK from "Yo Cadillac"

I think it was a neat idea, not for me, but a neat idea. But like so many neat ideas it was ruined by overexposure and being cheapened at every turn.

I agree IkeWRX--a friend of mine's uncle has an Escalade ESV with 24" Davins (authentic spinners) and it is cool--but not my taste. I've spinners on everything from Mitsu Mirages on up--this trend is going away though--the rims that stay still ala Rolls Royce Phantom are the next craze. Check out my car website--on the main page is a pic of the aformentioned Escalade with a set of authentic Davins, unfortunately the pic doesn't get much bigger now so you may not be able to tell the difference from the angle: http://slabs.wreckfastclub.net/ . Davins sell for like $10K--so thats why the knockoffs are everywhere--don't get me started on the spinning hubcaps--here is where I would put the 'vomit' smiley.
